MMcshane and Ledley would be great additions for us. They need to have a look at free agents at this point

    Gary Hooper

    226 goals in 550 games

    Without a club

    31 years of age

Our second choice striker cannot even get on the bench so zero chance of us even trying.

Let's struggle on believing a team of 11 kids will do the job.

wouldn’t dream of hiring a bloke who’d rather sit on the physio table and baulk at the thought of playing on the following Saturday then actually contribute to his team.

I’d rather go down then start hiring mercenaries like him. He’s also injury prone and would take about 2 month to get back upto speed if he doesn’t break down.

Most of these players are surely pricing themselves out of moves right now? Take Hooper and Rodwell for example. Hooper was on what £30K+ a week at Wednesday and Rodwell supposedly wouldn’t budge on his £70K a week deal at Sunderland so why would these come in and take £5K a week here or even a pay as you play?

He’s never fit. It’s the same with most of these has-beens getting listed on here right now. Like when we ended up with Mills and co.

Yes, we could have done with some more experienced players but back in the summer. Signing free agents at this stage would be beyond desperate and isn’t what I’d want personally.

In fairness to Roswell though, he got past his injuries and Sunderland wouldn’t play him because if he played another game it triggered a big payment to Everton.

Were going to lose 6 million + regardless with another relegation, no matter how much effort these kids put in. Id at least try something else.

I'd take Ledley, McShane and Hooper. Just something to get them scoring and winning and back on track. If not, it's going to be a very long miserable season. Wonder if the board will break their radio silence soon and address the situation?

I find it quite scary that folk are even entertaining the thoughts of Rodwell and Hooper etc.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s free agents out there that might do a short term fix for us, but there’s also some that are without a club for a very good reason.......

Hooper is one of them - his wage and ‘extras’ demands are excessive. And he’s injury prone too. No thank you.

McShane etc yes - if fit and ‘up for it’.

Be careful what you wish for - our back 2 might have no confidence and struggling, but generally at least they try and work hard and are here ultimately for the right reasons.
