    I don't think signing Roberts is all about nostalgia.
    Last preseason we had Shephard and Lopata and rightly so some commented about the lack of experience.This time we'll start with an experienced back line and that could be crucial to picking up some early points.
    If we take Marcs name out of the equation and announce a 6ft 4in 33 year old centre half whos played a shed load of games more than not supporters will be happy.

    The fact that he’s turned down a contract from Derby makes me think he won’t be excepting anything from us. Would love to be proven wrong.

    Or he's been offered lower terms and or no guarantees around game time and has chosen to move somewhere he knows he'll play.

    Wants to play cm as that's his position but was stuck LWB last season behind Adams etc. At Derby

    If anything I think the defence is fine other than a new left back required. I'd like us to offload a few to be honest.

    The midfield picks itself. However, Conor Grant would improve the options as we don't have a ball carrying midfielder.

    It's just up front. Cosgrove and Watters might do a job with service but it's a big gamble with only Jalo and Marsh as back up.

    But only a handful of clubs will have done the majority of their business before pre-season starts. In fact, most clubs will probably do half their business on deadline day. Even Rotherham will probably need another half dozen players given who they've let go.
