    SAM TOGWELL SET FOR OAKWELL!!!

    <img src ="http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/21/ea/0,,10309~2943521,00.jpg">

    BARNSLEY Football Club have agreed a deal with Crystal Palace to sign rising star Sam Togwell.

    The 21-year-old joined Palace as a youngster and came up through the ranks to make his debut during the 2002/2003 campaign. He has made four first team appearances for The Eagles.

    Although Sam found first team opportunities limited at Selhurst Park, he excelled during loan spells with Oxford United and Northampton Town during the 2004/2005 campaign. He made five appearances for Oxford and then a further ten at Sixfields.

    Sam joined Port Vale on loan last season and proved himself to be a excellent performer at League One level, putting in a goalscoring performance against The Reds at Vale Park in January 2006. He turned out 30 times for Vale, netting four goals.

    Sam has agreed personal terms and put pen-to-paper on a deal keeping him at Oakwell until the summer of 2008. The relevant paperwork is now being completed and will be sent to the Football League and Football Association this afternoon.

    More Soon!!!

    Now we're off

    This is what we've been waiting for. Lets have McIndoe and a striker and I might get my Cardiff grin back.

    Thought he was a bit old at ...

    ... 29, but then read the Palace article again and realised it was his squad number (banghead)

    Does this mean that we can still expect a midfielder and a left winger to sign this week, or is Togwell earmarked for midfield ?
