The biggest non-Barnsley game I've been to was the World Cup semi in 2018. Been to a few big cup games at Sincil Bank (big by Lincoln's standards!) as well, plus Alan Shearer's debut for Newcastle in a friendly at Lincoln. That was a proper media circus. But in general don't really bother with non-Barnsley games. I've probably only been to see Zenit ten times in fifteen years living here. Just can't get into it.

The biggest league game I've been to (and come to think of it, the only game not featuring Barnsley or Lincoln) was the Manchester derby in 2004, when City unexpectedly hammered United 4-1. John Macken scored for City. The atmosphere was something else.

League cup final 1982 with my mate John (from Liverpool) stood with the Spurs fans which was ok til Whealan equallised at the death. Liverpool won 3-1 in extra time if memory serves. It was mayhem outside Wembley after the match.

Was at the FA cup final replay in 1970 at Old Trafford when Chelsea beat Leeds there was some blood and snot flying about that day on the field.
Was at the FA cup final in 1973 when 2nd Division Sunderland beat Leeds with the Ian Porterfield goal.
To name but 2 of many.

I saw Beckham equal the caps record for England, in a friendl against Slovakia (I think... maybe it was Slovenia).

Also saw Derby's only Premier League win in 06/07 - Kenny Miller scored, 1-0 over Newcastle.

Queen Of The South 2 Forfar Athletic 1, September 1988. We were on holiday in the Dumfries and Galloway area, so I thought I'd pop in and watch. That was their only home win of the entire season!:D

Wasn't a hugely significant game in terms of what was on the line etc. But for me it was massive. I went to watch Barca vs Eibar at the Nou Camp a few years back and was able to see Messi score live in the flesh which was a dream of mine as he is my favorite player.

They were two down at half time but went on to win 4-2 with Messi getting two (should have been a hat trick but he missed a pen) his second goal was a trademark Messi goal, he picked the ball up deep and just dribbled through the team to score. It was during the time that Barca had Messi, Neymar and Suarez up top too.

Can proudly say I've never been to a football match that didn't involve Barnsley. I've been to the Oval when England beat South Africa and to Post Office Road once and the Jungle a few times watching Rugby League. Never been to the football when Barnsley aren't playing. After missing Premiership season vowed I'd never go to a big ground unless Barnsley were playing there. As a consequence I've only been to Mollineaux, Elland Road, Hillsbrough, Bramall Lane, Carrow Road, Upton Park and Anfield.

1982 Fa Cup Final aged 6.

I was at the first final between Tottenham and QPR, sat front row next to the benches.

    2000 Euros - Charleroi.

England Vs Romania - The game where Phil Neville gave away a penalty in the last minute to knock Kevin Keegans England out. This was the game after the trouble against Germany with massive media attention on England Fans. The BBC said the crowd had behaved and there was only one arrest in Charleroi that day. That one arrest was me.

It was the most ridiculous arrest ever btw.

Went to a fair few Liverpool games in the ealy 80's and saw one of the best sides in my lifetime - no particular game stands out though ( apart from the Liverpool v Barnsley one which doesnt fit the criteria and a rare home defeat when they lost 1-0 to southamptom in a game where Southamtoms scored with their only attack and Liverpool missed chance after chance - hitt the woodwork, Southampton keeper making great saves and the highlight was Rush rounding the keeper and kicking it goalwards only for the ball to stop in a puddle on the line in the days when pitches were more like ploughed fields in winter)

Best none Barnsley game I went to was West Brom 1 Woking 4 in the FA cup with non league Woking totally outplaying a then 2nd Division West Brom
    - I was living in Woking at the time and became a part time cherry picking fan. Also went to watch the next round at Everton to watch a narrow 1-0 defeat. Thjnk Ive only watched them in one game since

I thought we had a good squad that tournament and could have won it with better luck in the group stage.

I went to a Leeds game in the mid 70's I think it was West Brom - My cousin took me for some reason I dont recall. It was the great Revie side with Clarke Bremner Lorimer etc - only time I have ever left a game early. Leeds were 2-0 down with about 5 minutes to go and cousin said lets go and miss the traffic. We had just got out of sight of the pitch when there was a roar as Leeds pulled one back, "should we go back in I said" the reply was negative - half way back to the car another huge roar as the equaliser went in.
Very significant game for me as I vowed never to leave a game early again and I havent.

Me and the brother in law went to the Leeds Barcelona European Cup semi final, some serious talent on display there ,think there was 50 odd thousand in the ground, that was interesting in its own right, seems unbelievable now!

I spent 20 minutes sat on a Ponte End bog with my fingers in my ears after Odejayi scored against Chelsea the tension got too much for me. Daft thing was in the concourse there were a number of fans pacing up and down. It wasn't just me. Daft I know.
