Only improvements I've seen are those done by volunteers which in itself is going backwards isn't it? It's moving towards a more amateur model. Full of praise for those volunteers but it's poor from the club that volunteers have indeed been handed the task of improving the club. I've seen recently the club cancel the order for a new scoreboard, suggest that new revenue generating advertising boards and scoreboard would be purchased but then cancelled. Seen us hint at big national sponsors and then sign up a small local business. Seen half of the west stand moth balled and the away end capacity reduced by almost a third. Seen communication to the fans hit an all time low. Seen the squad decimated and cheap replacements brought in. Seen the manager sacked with no reason given. I'll turn it around, other than things done by volunteers free of charge what improvements have their been recently?
I'll turn it around, other than things done by volunteers free of charge what improvements have their been recently?[/QUOTE] I Have to agree with ST on this one. Our new owners came in blazing about "Fan Experience". Little did we know that their intention was to take advantage of the good will of the members of the Supporters Trust, and Redfearns to produce this. Not only have they removed the venue, but they have also done little as far as I can see, to help with the new venture. Where we had a warm, cosy venue with tv, and entertainment, we now have a cold, draughty car park, with virtually no seating, entertainment you can't hear, run by volunteers who are now expected to do twice as much work. When I asked about seating/ shelter I was told that more would come when the Supporters' Trust could afford it. Sadly, whilst I'd like to support it, I'm more often than not, spending pre match in town. Yet the club has so much to gain from getting people to the ground early. Absolutely scandalous the owners are relying on the trust to deliver a fan zone. The trust had a successful one of its own, and the club seems to be messing with that.
That isn’t true, especially all done by volunteers bit. When was it said a new scoreboard and advertising had been ordered? I think you are looking to the wrong people to blame and especially with regards to Rob Zuk
Didn't they say that a scoreboard had been cancelled when we were relegated? And when asked about it they said plans were in place for if we were promoted but that led permitted advertising would be first? That appears to have been cancelled as we are in the championship without it. The ponty end was decorated by volunteers wasn't it? East stand by volunteers? Fanzone run by volunteers? I may be aiming it at the wrong person in Rob, it isn't specific to him. He's simply an employee forced to do what his bosses want? Doesn't mean he's doing well by the club though
The team from 2014 against Huddersfield 1Steele - no better then current lad. A goalie who couldn’t kick and was too small. 12Hunt- genuinely don’t remember him 4Kennedy - worse full back I’ve ever seen in a red shirt 21Mellis- enough said 3Ramage- hard working but limited 6Cranie - see Ramage 14Lawrence - nice hair doo, not very good at football 15Frimpong - stole a wage Substituted for Dawson - limited cart horse 10O'Grady see Dawson 9Proschwitz- see O’Grady Substituted for McCourt - flashes of brilliance studded in a sea of disinterest 16Jennings- fkme. Substituted for Shea -fkme x 100. Cranie and Ramage aside that was a terrible, terrible side And in my opinion way worse then our current squad.
How many points did that team get at the end of the season? How many points will this team get? Ball is your court to make a prediction. Mine is less than 30, unless there is a massive re-think.
I cant remember anything about a scoreboard being cancelled on relegation. At least not last relegation. Disnt that happen before these guys came in? I asked about a new scoreboard one tome and was told the business case for a pitch side advertising was stronger and that theyd look at following that win a scoreboard but there was no confirmation that it had been ordered or any timescales given. The club paid for the ponte artwork The community trust paid for the east stand artwork from a lottery grant. Neither was done by volunteers
I will have you a bet on the points that team got and the points this one will get. If you don’t know that Luke Steele is a better keeper than anyone we currently have it’s probably not worth discussing football with you.
Then they was the Nice friendly happening. Then they said they had already sorted pre season but a pre season tour for fans to watch the team play in France would be happening with prices announced in due course and that never happened. Our volunteers are brilliant a credit to the club. But the owners getting shut of Redfearns to expect fans to leave a nice warm cosy town centre pub to stand in a car park (if they can get in) was a silly idea. Recently the gate at the bottom of the car park seems to be open every game. So where the food hut is you have cars trying not to knock down fans to get out (isn't it suppose to be shut for ten minutes after the game?). We made a Rotherham home shirt and Leeds away shirt which got released far too late in the off season missing Father's Day and a fair part of the summer holiday season. We have a supporters meeting coming up where our owners appear to not be turning up to. It's just for Dane Murphy to feed lines from those above him who appear too worried to face the fanbase.
The owners have gone North Korea on us all. It won't be long before redfearns is converted to a labour camp and anyone caught saying anything against the owners will be sentenced to the ultimate punishment.... being forced to watch us play at 3pm on Saturdays.
If you think that team was superior to the current one, I’m not sure you’re qualified to make judgements yourself. Steele’s post Barnsley career, talk me through it.
accept the bet if you are confident. Put your money where you mouth is. Ronnie Glavin has no career after Barnsley I suppose he was ****? Cranie of course has played in the premiership and win a couple of promotions so I guess in your world he’s a world beater. anyway enough feeding of the troll from me. When you want to accept the bet you know where I am sweetie pie
Just to be clear most of us have issues with the owners and the way we are being run, not with the players but which team that you have seen are far worse than this one? And just to reiterate I do support the players and will continue to but I won't be surprised if we finish this season with a record low points total if we don't bring players in to help them. If that happens they will be statistically the worst Barnsley side at championship level ever but I will still apportion most (not all) of the blame to our owners.
Time to put you on ignore, not going to waste my time with anymore pointless debates with your “logic”,
96 appearances for Panathinaikos including 15 in European Competition, and was named in the Europa League's team of the week after one of these games.
Performance wise this season definitely hasn't been the worst, nor has it been in terms of effort by the players they all give 100% not like when we had break shea, frimpong, lita etc, but results wise I think it will end up been the worst we just seem incapable of grindng out wins even when we are infront. Weather that be experience or having no leader I dont know. Last season we were able to win even when performing not so well we always had a goal in us and had a tight defence this season it's the opposite.
