I'm just glad there's nothing else to be concerned about What with being a massive 2 points above the relegation positions.
look at you picking on someone with obvious mental health issues, He's like Jekyle and Hyde but not as realistic.
> But he's only fifteen for god's sake! Why don't we all just leave him alone to grow up and develop without any additional pressure.
I'd barely heard of him, until Davey introduced him to the first team squad as the youngest ever league player. Then the national newspapers got involved. I can't see how you can blame fans for additional pressure, it has all come down to that record. So either davey got it wrong, or he is conifident that RNL can handle the pressure.

You are right that Davey and the club started it with all the publicity but if he was really ready for Championship football then why has Davey not picked him since the Donny game. I saw him once in that Youth Cup game and he didn't look ready to me. That's why I said to leave him alone. I'm not blaming Red Rain for the mad publicity the club and the boy got, I just wanted to know why he felt the boy was in danger of being ruined. If it was all the publicity he could say that he felt that was effecting him.
I always read Red Rains academy reports with interest. It is good to get an opinion of what is going on. And it does seem like an informed opinion (informed as he seems to watch them often). But it is only an opinion, just as it is only opinion when people are bemoaning the 1st team squad. Not that I find his posts overly negative, he just tells it as he sees it.
Simple Fact The fact remains that people have every right to critisise the Academy because the person running the Academy, in my opinion and as I understand it (don't want to get added to the list of WANTED posters by the club) has no qualifications whatsoever to run an Academy. I heard Davey wants him out, Ritchie wanted him out Paul Hart wanted him changed but yet he is still there. I wonder why that is? So if the club thinks we should not be critical of our academy they are wrong! Don't forget a week on Friday Headliners are playing!!!! DJ rules
Having read Red Rain's post I didn't interpret it as an attack on the lads in the academy or a suggestion that RNL was being ruined. He made a number of valid points regarding the quality of coaching, flaws in recruitment and the lack of quality players that the academy has produced since its formation. Based on this he summised that it was unlikely the academy would produce an extraordinary player and he feared that a player with raw talent (RNL) wouldn't improve under the current system. Seems like common sense to me. It's difficult for me to comment on his reports as I don't go to watch the academy matches myself but they appear to be balanced and always take into account quality of opposition, age of players etc where any criticism is made.
Amazing how many people have registered JUST to defend the club and academy set up in recent weeks All of them have a full name put in their profile too, a nice random name. Not like most people who leave it blank and al just attack anyone criticising the academy. Thanks ronnie
My honest opinion without axe to grind and purely based on what I think is best for Barnsley FC after 10 years of Academy investment and what little its produced, short, medium and long term: close the Academy. Ive posted on this subject umpteen times so a quick search will find my reasons. I dont believe the figure of £150k a year by the way, based on conversations Ive had with someone who should know what the bills are for upkeep, wages, housekeeping, other incurred overheads, etc. Academies just dont work for clubs our size and we should completely change direction.
In my opinion Red Rain's reports are honest, to the point and very informative. Why would he have an agenda against anyone at the club? The club seem to think its own fans have it in for them and players/staff etc all the time, when nothing could be further from the truth. I've experienced this numerous times myself.
