It did though your ability as a player...

Is a miriad of different skills like positioning etc. I understand what you mean but on this one its fruitless I'm afraid and we are definitely getting off track.

At the end of the day. Mr Davey has to take the blame for the majority of this season. Playing players not only out of position slightly but to a massive extent. More importantly the players making the misatakes are players that he bought.

Don't get me wrong the players aren't away from any blame but Mr Davey is on thin Ice as it is.

"a player doesn't lose his ability to play football ..."

    "

...just because the manager asks them to play a particular way."

    That's exactly what's happening.

Are you seriously suggesting that it doesn't matter what position a player plays in?

And also - isn't this manager responsible for the quality and ability of his players, seeing as he spent a massive amount of money buying them all?

I agree but this thread started as yet another dig at Davey when if you look at the goals scored against us he was right.

You can't blame Davey for every thing as some do on here and then as will happen over the next month when we start picking points up give l the players all the credit.

If we are mid-table at Christmas it will still be Davey Out on here.

No I'm not, a player may be more effective in a particular position but his basic football skills will not get worse.

Does Beckhams ability to pass the ball deteriorate depending on where he is on the field?

It's not 100% players or Davey's fault what's happening currently. However, being manager carries certain (unfortunate) responsibilities in that he's the focus for when things are going bad or good. When we beat Chelsea many on here would have sucked him off.

Being a manager also means imho that you don't come out and apportion blame like he has done. If someone's reckless then fair do's, but at this early stage to be focussing on errors seems to intimate to me that he's feeling a bit of pressure.

    Davey said this:

"We were punished last weekend for two lapses in concentration. We have to iron those out and stop making silly mistakes. It is hard to stop because it has not been down to tactics or systems rather a personal error."

Where is he blaming anyone? Wasn't that what happened?

Looks to me as if he was saying the same as some of the fans who went to Brum, and in the Barnsley Independennt Bobby say's one of the goals was down to him.

Why has he felt the need to bring tactics/formations into it ?

And he doesn't need to name names really does he ? He's mentioned the 2 errors. Everyone has seen the goals.

It's a far cry from 'we win as a team and lose as a team' ...

....... after oddjob ****** up against Cardiff ........... he wants to make his mind up that Davey, it's either the team's fault as a whole, or individual errors or just all his bloody fault!!

    HE is the manager

    HE picks the team
    HE picks the formation
    HE chooses the tactics
HE is paid to motivate the team
HE decides when to make a subsitution
HE decides who we need to bring on and who we need to take off
HE decides on any changes in tactics and formation needed during the game

HE is in charge on match days and if we lose it is down to HIM.

If the same players are making individual mistakes then ho makes the decision to remove them from the first team squad? HIM

Show that you have balls Simon Davey and accept the blame for YOUR team not performing.

    Don't talk fecking daft man

So if JCR was asked to play in goal he would be just as good as he is running down the right wing?

If Mostto was asked to become a commanding centre half he would fit into the role easily because he is a decent striker?

No but his ability to operate in the position requiredd does

ie his footballing skills suit his position perfectly but his skills are not suited to the left back position. Stick him there and the fact that he is right footed and cant tackle will soon cause problems.

So if HE wins today will YOU give HIM all the credit?

    No, will you ****.

Not that he would deserve it nor does he deserve all the vitriol he's got recently.

When was the last time you heard ANY manager say "I made tactical errors and picked the wrong team - you can't blame the players".

    Barely ever happens.
