As I posted yesterday; What's the point of a squad, if you don't use it?

I seem to remember Nigel Spackman came highly recommended as well....

Still think he's right man for the job, second season is always difficult, remember Hull last year and look where they are now, not saying that we are going to be in playoffs next year but i think we will be midtable comfortably with a decent striker. I will be worried if we are in a relegation battle next year though like Wednesday.

Our performances in the FA cup as saved his skin. But our league performances most of the season have been mediocre. I can only count on one hand the decent games that i have seen , the rest have been huff and puff with little excitement and without much talent from the manergerial team, who on some occasions have been cluless. If we are in this league next season then the foreign imports have got to stop, and some home base players bought, even if we are going back to the bargain basement. Also dig the pitch up and re- lay it . It's the worst pitch i have seen at Oakwell for many a year.

RE: Stubbornness is rarely a positive trait in one's character

i think, jlwbiglil, the one descriptive term for davey, in the capacity you have mentioned , is absolute immaturity,to whch this club and it's supporters will eventually become the
    victim of.

I agree with the pitch its poor at the moment. I think if it we had not had the run in the cup then we would be mid table
its hard to say but we were'nt moaning at the time we had the run.

No one on this board is qualified to criticize Simon Davey

I only log on these days to laugh at the armchair critics who pontificate on matters they no F A about.Of course he's made mistakes.Who hasn't?Football is the only profession in the world where everyone believes himself to know more than the professional. And there is nothing wrong with being single minded.Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger didn't get where they are to listening to every tom dick and harry.

Biggest load of rubbish ever that one...

fans do know something about the game in general, with years of watching it behind them.

By the same token Co-exist you too are not qualified to determine who is or,who is not qualified to post adverse feelings and attitudes. We pays our monies and make our
    choices. It's commonly known as free speech. :) :) :) :) :)

Some do, even if you don't.

I haven't changed my mind about him. Didn't think he was a good choice in the beginning and still don't. His "management" skills are non existent. He may be able to spot a good player but he sure as hell can't get the best out of them once he's got them.
Oh and in response to co-exist, I consider myself eminently capable of criticising Simon Davey's performance. I spent more than 25 years in management of one kind or another and the basic premise is the same whatever the business might be. Pick the right staff and do what ever it takes to get the best out of them. Simon Davey hasn't done that and IMHO isn't capable of doing that. One final point, Ferguson and Wenger may not admit to listening to others but you can be sure that at some point along the way, they have done.

I am pleased to hear you consider yourself "eminently qualified" after your 25 in management to point out Simon Daveys shortcomings.I would expect an open minded character like yourself would also accept advice now and again from your tea lady.
