Whaley played ok. he made our goal and to say that he had only one day to get to know the team, i though he did well. Devaney was his usual work horse he put in some cracking crosses in the first half and we had nobody at the end of them. I wouldn't have given him MOTM, but he was close. Colace was fantastic today , never once saw him make a stray pass and his distribution was also excellent. We should have shared the spoils today, a good performance from the reds. Now with De Silva out for 3 games , Hume crocked up for goodness knows how long and Macken on the sidelines for a few weeks, we need to get behind the team for the Watford game Colace and Kosluk were imense today, shame about the hand ball, but it was a penalty. the game past him by

on that showing, no better than what we've got, although to be fare to the lad he's not played regular first team footy this season and to throw him into a S.Yorks derby was a risk, didn't do anything wrong, but too green for this occasion - Davey's Preston connections coloured his judgement me thinks

you could ask the same of JCL and Whaley

What WHAT DID HE ACTUALLY DO WHEN HE GOT NEAR THE GOAL?

What did JCL or Whaley do when they got near the goal? Neither of them did, at least Devaney created something.

RE: No where near the standards of Devaney

Spot on mate, people who moan about Devaney must never have played the game. Beating players for fun is not exactly easy, if there is no fecker in the box making runs maybe thats not Devaneys fault ?

I never mentioned the man of the match

But if we're talking about that I'd say the numerous times he ran the ball out of our half relieving the pressure, the way he scared the Utd full back to death, the pivotal role he played in our attacking play and what I mentioned above all contributed to why he was voted man of the match. There were a number of other very good performances by Barnsley players today, in fact I'd say the majority of the team played well, but I certainly wouldn't begrudge Devaney receiving the accolade.

RE: Not a patch on the two wide men we've already got
