Re: And a true story about a true gentleman, Tom DID PLAY FOR BARNSLEY INAUGARATION OF THE FLOODLIGHTS AGAINST HALFAX THEn BOLTON WANDERERS And Scored in Both games if he is there to morrow ask him yourself I was at those games. I was only about 14 at the time but hugely impressed that somebody like Tom Finney turned out for us, even if only in a friendly on a one-game basis. I think he'd packed in full time playing by then, but was still quality. A real gent too, in his conduct on and off the field. Well deserved his knighthood. I wish some of today's crop would behave as well. Stand up Sir Bobby! You are another!
Re: And a true story about a true gentleman, Tom RIP Tom, Barnsley player for one night, when the first floodlights were opened.
Re: And a true story about a true gentleman, Tom Beautiful story mate, shows just how great of a bloke he was.
Of all the great players Tom played with...he said the best was a certain PNE and former Barnsley striker..Jimmy Baxter..So how good was Baxter, wow. RIP Sir Tom..
