I very much doubt the protests would have continued, the schools went back the following Monday. A small section of 'fans' wanted him out whatever he did, end of!
We were totally unprepared for the start of the season It was a mistake to release Souza and Van-Homoet. Hardly worldbeaters, but I think they were adequate cover. This meant SD was embarking on yet ANOTHER squad overall. IMHO, we didn't need that - perhaps concentrating on a couple of signings in key positions would have been a better use of his time. Consequently, we started the season with a shoestring squad and it feels like we are MILES behind the other teams preperation wise.
3 or 4? Can you count? This all stemmed back to last season. Perhaps if Mr Davey concentrated on BFC all summer instead of devoting four weeks to his "private income" he may have signed players sooner.
I was not sure why,but putting in a shift on the training ground and losing it on Saturday afternoon.I think the players lost Davy his job end off.
When the full time whistle went against Reading, it was more then half a dozen people chanting Davey Out, that's for sure.
No Darton, he had lost the fans I was never a "Davey Out" man until the Reading game at home. After that second half performance, which must rank as one of the worst I have seen under Davey, I was convinced he had to go. It is debateable as to whether he lost the dressing room. But why were the performances so poor? Why did they not give their all to keep him in the job? Whether we have made the right appointment is another question, but after 3 seasons, it was time to part.
