So to summarise, one poster in this thread thinks ganaye isn't doing his job correctly because we have only signed one player so far and another poster is of the belief that because we don't spend our time bairning on a forum day after day we have low expectations. Must be great knowing everything
I understand that things take time with signings, especially so if they are from overseas. What I don't understand, however, is why we rush to release players in loan to other clubs without replacements ready to come in. Can't say as I've seen many clubs doing that apart from us. Just baffles me......
Because deals will be done, it's good to get our young / fringe players out and potentially playing 1st team football. If we can't bring in replacements and are short, I'm sure we will have a recall clause in the loan arrangements. Two thirds of the transfer window still open, there is no panic.
I'm just glad we haven't changed all our directors, had or CEO involved in a takeover deal and been in limbo til we knew what was going to happen... phew, imagine how much that would have distracted us... oh, hang on...
Well, this is a bit of an eye-opener... I thought I was an old pro in the art of moaning, but I can see now that I'll have to work a lot harder on the training ground before I can be considered for the first team.
I am yes... He's also said things are taking longer than he would like because we are looking at a lot of players from the continent. Every team in the country is in the same boat so why you think we can just stroll in and get what we need in a week and job done is beyond me....
We've had all summer to look at continental players. And we brought just ONE in. Is Ganaye now saying he needs more time? While Hecky has continually said - we need players in ASAP because this will give him time to establish the new players into the way the team plays. Other clubs - some local - have brought more players in than Barnsley. And these other clubs are not as desperate for players compared to the situation at Barnsley. It's vital players are brought in NOW. The activities during this transfer window will determine what league Barnsley is in next season. AND - whether Hecky has a job or not.
Blaming Ganaye for not getting players in before now is wearing a bit thin.... I'm sure our targets were identified and we are in dialogue with lots of teams about players but I'll say it again we aren't the only ones after these players and agents won't be helping things touting there clients about looking to raise the price and wages increasing the cut they receive. It's the same every window and we know this so whining every day about it won't make anything happen any quicker.... Surely you would rather wait a bit longer for the right players than get 4 or 5 in straight away that nobody else wants for one reason or another. We aren't going to throw money at has beens or be able to spend massive fees on established players that command wages beyond our means so patience and trust in the manager and his staff to get things right are needed.
Somebody asked if any of us think we will have just 1 new player (Moore) in by the end of the window ?. Well put it this way, it wouldn't surprise me!!. I understand all the reasons or excuses as to why these transfers take time and all, but lets not forget we don't have time to faff about like this. And this should have been addressed and looked at long before now.
Nudger, you basically addressed your own concern.. 'The activities during this transfer window will determine what league Barnsley is in next season.' Exactly, only a third of the way through that transfer window.
