I was just going to say the same. Moving from Barnsley to Everton was the life changing move and Martinez has already named him as one of the young players they'll be looking to give an improved contract to at the end of the season. Moving now to one of the top teams would undoubtedly give him another pay rise, but not to the factor that the move from us to Everton gave him. He is already financially secure, so he can afford to make his next move a footballing one and Manchester United is where he ultimately wants to go anyway.

Re: and he could get injured at any time ending his career

Are you aware that they take out insurance against this happening. Trust me premier league players don't end up using food banks if their careers end prematurely.

I had this conversation with an ex footballer who to be fair to actually agreed with me. I suggested that an average bloke earning £30k per year would have his life changed if he was to double his wage whereas a footballer earning £30k per week would not notice any change to his lifestyle to be earning £60k per week. Money and greed has ripped the heart and soul out of football.

He was at the Burnley game afterwards, he came for a chat with me and my dad on his way back to his car. He said that he was right enjoying life at Everton and his next ambition isn't the 30 man squad for the world cup but to play regular european football from next season onwards. It sounds as though the bright lights of London won't phase his ambitions too much, he seems to be a pretty level headed and grounded lad when it comes to his career.
