RE: I used to have an MCB Donkey Jacket

I never realised you could get halal donkeys, let alone halal donkey jackets. Can you get kosher donkey jackets? I think you might have identified a niche market here...

I refer my learned friend to:

    Wikipedia Halal

    Wikipedia Kosher

Basically the halal laws are far more lenient that kosher. The laws of Deuteronomy and Leviticus do not cite donkey as unclean, however, it is seen as unclean as it shares characteristics with other unclean animals.

As long as your donkey has been killed properly then it is halal.

There's two Wikipedias? A Halal one and a Kosher one? Bloody disgraceful, I bet there isn't a white, anglo-saxon, protestant Wikipedia, is there? Political correctness gone mad...

Was your Donkey Jacket clean or did you leave spice in the pockets and laik about in ditches in it?

Er, I don't know, what would you like me to make up?

It was clean apart from the entrails hanging out of the left pocket. Will that do?

That's fine, mate - just curious as to whether it was clean or unclean - I suppose if it was a halal donkey jacket it'd have to be clean...

    That site's worse than useless.

Their mantra, "Whoever kills an innocent soul.. it is as if he killed the whole of mankind, And whoever saves one, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind,” rather open to interpretation isn't it? Mohamed, after all, was a paedophile murdering rapist. That just lloks like more lies and denial from the muslim quarter. They need to realise what a crock of ***** their "holy" quran is and what a scumbag the man who cobbled it together was and that's not going to happen in a hurry is it.

I see you're still channelling the spirit of Windy; Mohammed as the murdering paedophile was one of his favourite lines.

Of course, that argument is irrelevant to the subject at hand – take it up with a historian or theologian because that’s the domain it belongs in. For arguments sake, it’s no more correct than arguing all Christians are homophobes because of passages in the Old Testament or that Judaism is invalid ‘cos they strung up Christ. Basically, most religions have adapted to the modern world and, fundamentalists aside, Islam is no different.

(By the way, if you are going down the “let’s discredit a religion” route the easiest way is to say that there is little evidence to suggest any presence of a supreme being and all religions tend to be based on shaky ground, anyway.)

What is relevant is that there is a group of people who, regardless of your analysis of their faith, would like to use that faith to appeal to other Muslims to stop blowing innocent people up. These people are condemning terrorist attacks, they are advocating that it is possible for Muslims to live in this country and not be at odds with its way of life and they are instructing their people to cooperate with the police. A lot more likely to save lives than the "lets call their prophet a paedophile" route whichever way you look at it...

Regarding whether or not they’ll realise what a “crock of *****” their holy book is, you are absolutely spot on – they’re not going to work that out in a hurry so, unless it’s a holy war you’re looking for (not very practical considering how stretched our armed forces currently are), maybe you should give credit where credit is due to these people. Although I suspect you’re quite happy with the “damned if they do and damned if they don’t” scenario we have at the moment…
