Iam sure its not the best paid job in the world and with the amount of extra unplanned revenue the could pay a little bit of overtime

So open the ticket office from 5pm till midnight......then we have everyone on afters, nights and out on the lash that night moaning.

If we only get a draw and city get 6000 tickets I wonder what their system for sale will be? Glad we haven't got 40thou turning up each week...then theres their mates etc ;)

    TOTALLY OUT OF ORDER, CONAN.

I don't often disagree with people on here, but your comment is just pathetic.

Oh, and I have no chance of getting a ticket for the Man City game.

But then again I run my own business and work Saturdays and Sundays.

I work 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday and live 40 odd miles away. It's quite simple - When the club announced ticketing details I posted my application with Voucher and Stubs. They same way as I do for loads of other away games. I've never failed before to get tickets that way so don't see why it shouldn't work now.

I agree with that part. Nothing can be done for the days where ticket stubs are involved, but from next wednesday when it goes to just season ticket holders I don't see why you can't order online using your patron code. Especially with them only willing to sell tickets for the City game until midday a week on saturday when it would be more conveinent for hundreds of people to get them before entering for the Bolton game.

Is that a serious post? My comment was obviously tongue in cheek but for anyone unsure please don't quit your job. Unless you were planning to do so anyway.

Sorry but its a service industry therefore should be manned at a time that is convenient for its customers.Thats not having a go for the sake of it, its a factnot a case of having a life outside the club its a need for flexibility.

Agree with the original poster in this, it's prehistoric queuing for tickets, doesn't affect me as I've a ticket in their end off the Internet, but my mate said what we doing we can get our city supporting mate to order one online for their end or take a day off work and queue for hours for the away end? No brainer for me l ain't wasting a days leave and queuing. Time the club spent some of this cup money on updating themselves off the field.

I thought 99.9999% of companies kept the same opening hours as the BFC ticket office or there abouts. Maybe I'm missing something.

Not saying you're wrong, but how would you go about categorising the tickets if they were sold on line? The system we've got isn't nearly up to it and it would take an awful lot of money and at least one full time dedicated employee to make it work. At best we get a match like this once a year. That's an awful lot of spend for something that is rarely used.

Yes you are, by a mark. I think the club will do their best to accommodate out of town fans and out of hours workers, with the fair credentials that qualify for tickets. I am resigned to missing the big game, but my fellow London Tykes aren't panicking, the online/postal application appears to be the means, I'm sure there is someone looking in to advise. :)

I don't understand the relevance of any of that to my post. Will the box office opening a couple of hours later help the London Tykes out?

Using a loyalty system, this is Sheff Utd which the installed after numerous ticketing fiasco's, you have an account on it like many other things online.

    http://www.sufc.talent-sport.co.uk/PagesPublic/Home/home.aspx

Would it cost that much to install at the club? Would it be worth it? Recently it would have been used for Cardiff, Wembley, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sheff Utd (A) & Man City. Loyalty points are certainly the fairest system to use and they roll over each season.

    Okay, fair enough, Conan. Apologies.

But I'm not very tolerant of WUM's.

I dont live near Barnsley but I have followed the Postal Application route for City Tickets and I am a member so have to wait til 4th March, its quite simple to follow, moan moan fcking moan all people want to do

the club are well behind in the technology stakes, normal games i get my tickets online and if it was looked into the online ticketing system could be set up to allow applications for the certain sectors of the FA Cup process, I know of several Footy Clubs that use this way of issuing tickets.

99.9999% o companies or 99.9999% of retail outlets? More importantly 99.9999% of retail outlets with a special event on who have great demand for the product and have thousands of customers unable to visit said retail outlet on a 9-5 timescale.

Bit like when the latest iPod or games console or top end computer game comes out and shops realise how much business means to them and their customers so makes things more accomodating for them with their opening hours.

Basically you're comparing FOUR box office staff at BFC to a major franchise like Apple or Sony?
