Are the FOUR box office staff the only people in the multi-million pound company that are able to sell tickets? That is pathetically amateur if true.
There are four box office staff employed by BFC and are already working extra hours after the shutters have been closed to sort out the postal applications.
I repeat. Are there only four employees (out of 168 employees as identified in club accounts in 2012) that are able to sell tickets at Barnsley football club?
got mine today lads feel like am one of the lucky one's have not been to a game since semi final but it's not what you know it's who you know
No i'm comparing us to companies that have better opening hours for their customers when a really popular product goes on sale like retail outlets that for a few days will open for a couple of extra hours on an evening or open at midnight. I'd not expect us to sell tickets at midnight but why not just for 2-3 days only open the box office midday to 8pm? That way...... 1) Box office staff are still working the same amount of hours without overtime needed. 2) Box office staff get a lie in not having to come in until dinner time. 3) 9-5 people and those that start with an afternoon shift can go for tickets before/after work.
The 2-3 hours spent after hours working on postal orders how about if those were done 9-12 in the morning and box office opened midday to 8 pm? Staff would still get home same time, box office would still be open same amount of hours, but the hours would be convenient for most people while we don't have a state of the art computer system in place. Everyone wins
Im embarrassed that the postal applications arent being dealt with by one of the other 160 odd employees during the day
what abart those who live in tarn, but work 30 miles away on a 9-5 shift? no chance of me getting a ticket with no other facilities to help me out.
I obviously can't list them all but they're the 160 odd employee's of Barnsley Football Club 2002 Limited as identified in their 2012 accounts. I'm sorry but they simply should be able to adjust their opening hours for big occasions and there is absolutely no excuse for not doing so other than that they simply didn't want to. Postal applications could be dealt with by any tom, dick and harry at the club and surely many other club employee's could help man the box office during extended opening hours. Far from increasing the workload of the four members of staff it would actually ease their workload by others helping out and by spreading the 6,000 customers over an extra 10 hours or so so
Me too. Live in Barnsley and work in Leeds. I am never around Barnsley during office hours. A really silly policy that assumes that if you live in Barnsley, you must work there. Absolutely ridiculous in this day and age.
It doesn't just assume that if you live in Barnsley you must work there. It assumes that if you live in Barnsley you must work there and be able to take a day's holiday at the drop of a hat
I assume it does yes. My point remains that they are a multi million pound company with 160+ employee's and you're telling me that only 3 or 4 people could possibly do the job required. What happens if someone phones in sick then? I know for a fact that I've seen at least 7 different people serving in the box office in the last year. Not all at the same time obviously but i've seen them helping out. Don't you think that the postal applications could be sorted out by someone else through the day so that the box office staff don't have to start wading through them after work?
