Daniel clearly asked for Championship experience, as early as the Tykes tv interview with him and Conway. I would imagine Struber means the same? If he means more Diabys I'm not sure that will be enough to keep us up, teams around us will buy/loan players who do have championship experience.
The 25 minute interview on Radio Sheffield.Conway was asked everything from Stendels departure to Strubers arrival the clubs strategy and plans for January.I think it should be still available on the Football Heaven web site.
Shepley Red said Daniel was told by the powers that be to be quiet regarding experience,I was just asking how he knew that.
A lot of people say a lot of things. I'm going on actual first hand interviews. And things said in the immediate aftermath of events You for example intimate that Daniel was very disruptive? May be the wrong word before he left. If true I'd like to know if that was out of frustration due to the situation or for other reasons. The worry for me and other fans is all is hunky dory with the board and the head coaches at the start but then it sours. Will Struber feel the same, like Daniel he's away from his home country and family, having to speak a foreign language and a hard task on his hands. He needs the fans and players support which he has but most importantly he needs the boards.
I have never intimated anywere that Daniel was disruptive.Like I've said quite a few times I was a massive fan of Daniel.I cele4brated with him the night Portsmouth and Sunderland lost for us to gain promotion.I celebrated with him again when I got back from Bristol. In my opinion to go behind the back of the club and stab them and every supporter in the back leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It could have been Mourinio or Klopp I'd have still wanted them dismissed. He knew the plan when he signed for us,I know that for a fact because he said so.I also know they looked at experience in September for a fact because Dale Tonge said that but they didn't believe they could get them match fit in time. These are comments not from me or my mates they are on public record for everyone to listen to.
Struber signed knowing the clubs strategy he said so.He also said a little experience could help the team.Conway has already said the club may tweek the policy in January.Lets see if they do.Personally I'd rather sign a for example 24/25 year old whos got over 100 games under his belt than some 35 year old who's after a few games because he's out of favour at his current club.
Fair enough. I'm not sure I believe that no championship experienced player would come to us though. And that is what Daniel asked for, what various pundits said we needed and what has become painfully obvious was needed .
Depends on the players. I enjoy having a youthful side, Daniel enjoyed working with and improving them BUT a few older heads in the mix might have steadied the ship earlier on in the season. Older players can be enthusiastic and hard working too
Honestly RedHelen I don't post things to be controversial I post things I hear from the horses mouth so to speak to try and clear one or two things up.
I'm not insinuating you do. I just missed the part where Conway said the plan could be tweaked and I suppose a bit annoyed that if he does intend to do that that it wasnt done earlier.
Dale tonge was on Radio Sheffield doing a pre match interview when he was asked about experienced players who were out of contract and the fitness answer is what he gave.
Flipping heck... It's just an interview with a bloke who works at a football club. No need to turn it into Game Of Thrones.
If that is indeed what happened? We don't know for certain. Of course I'm going over old ground, I realise that, but there is doubt about what actually happened at that time. Well, there is in my mind.
Like I said yesterday Stahlrost Daniel had the chance to deny the events once they were in the public domain.
He did have that chance. But he was/is constrained by legal action on both sides. But anyway, we'll never agree, I think he was unfairly treated at the time, and that's it. I'll try to move on now.
