You leftists are so far up your own arses you can't see the full picture.

    a) The country doesn't make more money by employing public servants

No it doesn't but if there is inadequate staffing of the public services then the infrastructure is not there for a private sector to thrive.

    b) No Labour/Socialist Government in the UK has left office in a better position than what it inherited.

Governments are perceived not to as that is why they are not re-elected. Do you also think that matters within the control of government were in a worse state in 2010 than 1997

c)The worst enemy of the working people is/and has been the Labour Party. But most are too thick to see it.

There is no socialist party now

    d) The Public Service does not generate wealth, and therefore the private sector has to create it for the benefit of the country.

I refer to my answer to point a.

Nationalised industries did not work. Their Managers might have had lower salaries than in the Private Sector, but the Union influence scuppered them with strikes, works to rule etc. Their leaders However, as now live in very nice houses, and have never suffered hardships that they inflicted on their electors.

I'd tend to agree with some of the above but it was also due to a lack of investment particularly in the 1970s car industry

    f) And that is just a start.

    BTW I'm not a leftie either !

'There is no socialist party now' - That's not true is it, there's that refuge for militant morons known as the Socialist Workers Party, which traditionally commands the same level of public support and respect as the likes of the BNP.

I expect the reason the labour party is no longer a socialist party is that the party intelligentsia clearly worked out in the nineties that unless they distanced themselves from the socialist agenda (or indeed ditched it completely) they'd be permanently unelectable by the majority in this country - what does that tell you about i. the current labour party, and ii. the way the majority of the voting public views socialism and those who preach it?

Have to laugh at the way many on here bemoan the fact that their labour party no longer represents the common (I won't say working) man, yet as sure as day follows night I'll bet you that come polling day they're all there loyally putting their cross in labour's box rather than breaking the habit of a lifetime and voting for a.n.other such as an independent, which is the only way we're ever going to affect genuine change via the ballot box.

But Red West, a lot of people know that by voting independent they will end up with a Tory government, and if you are anything left of the centre you would rather have a centre left government in power. Don't forget more people voted for centre left parties at the last election and we've still ended up with a Tory government pursuing public sector cuts and reform which weren't even in their manifesto.

A lot of people voted for centre left parties at the last election and we still got a Tory-led coalition Government, not that you'd know it from some of the laughably liberal tripe that Cameron espouses. If the liberal vote collapses at the next election as anticipated, it will be interesting to see how those votes are divvied up between the two remaining main players.

Anyway my point re independents is that if enought of us voted this way we might eventually have a parliament full of them, which is what we desparately need to move away from the increasingly pointless three main parties system.

I beg to differ. Try The Attlee Government for a start.
