No, the OP is attacking members of the bbs who formed a judgement based on what they’d seen over the season. His assessment after twenty minutes was that he hadn’t lost the dressing room. Ok - but then playing well doesn’t really prove they’re playing for him, they might also be doing it for professional pride, for the fans, they might be having a good game despite him. They might be playing out of their skin for Schopp as they love him. Who knows? I felt it a bit premature to conclude that the players were behind the manager after twenty minutes of a decent performance after what we’ve seen over eleven games, including the cup game obviously. Hardly enough to chastise a lot of people for their opinion formed over a much larger sample size. Over the last six or seven in particular we’ve gone noticeably backwards and looked a lot worse. If today is better, great. But let’s not be disingenuous, the OP didn’t say we are playing well today, it said members of the bbs were talking rubbish by suggesting he’d lost the dressing room.
worra weird post! Won one game , got torn apart on numerous occasions against Forest ,with nowt done to shut the door. Same old selections / tactics game after game. I think folk were entitled to comment that things needed to change
I interpreted his post as Schopp not having lost the dressing room because we made a very good start, which I think is fair. Although the post was a little blunter than that.
But in a world where we HAVE to compare to ‘What would Val have done?’ this has been just as competitive as the home game last season. Solid performance in awful conditions. Lost our way last ten minutes but hopefully regroup in the changing room and come out on the front foot again.
I read it as the OP assumes that a 20 minute spell of attacking football means all is well and no one should be worried about our current position.
I’d say it’s probably more weird commenting on a post and referencing our whole season, when the OP was specifically referring to the last 45 minutes. Quite clearly
People will take this hugely the wrong way, but Schopp is our David Moyes when he took over from our SAF.
Not for one minute suggesting he has lost the dressing room but we lost our way for more than the last 10 mins. I’d say we were decent for the first 20 but them Millwall have been on top. 2 good chances each but for the last 25 mins only one side looked threatening going forwards Let’s see what happens second half
Did we? In a 50/50 game where we had the upper hand in large spells, other than the last ten minutes, I wouldn’t say we lost our way. We didn’t look lost in the first 30/35 minutes anyway.
And he may or may not have lost the dressing room - I haven’t said that but have been very strong in my view he needs to go. Today, he takes off Palmer (by all accounts necessary as he was walking a tightrope having been booked), but brings on sibbick and puts moon in midfield, leaving Gomes on the bench. It is absolutely bizarre. People have been criticising use of that word, but what else can you describe it as? He won’t play a central midfielder as he’s a kid but he’ll play a kid centre half in midfield instead, to support the left wing back in there with him. As I say. Bizarre.
Under what circumstances would he actually bring Gomes on, given the extreme lengths he’s gone to to not bring him on. And given that - why have him on the bench? The bloke is clueless. Who cares if he’s ‘lost the dressing room’ or not?
Well, it was said that this week was the chance to end the winless run. Looks like zero points from all three games. Has to go I’m afraid.
