Totally agree with you, Hecky gives me the impression that everything he does is thoroughly professional & would certainly not be influenced by a handful of fans on a football forum . He will get things wrong but in his quest to get things right , he is quite at liberty to try any personnel & system he likes
Summat like that. Similar record at home which is a bit of a concern going forward. I think everyone knew we were going to be more reliant on home form this season, so we need to step it up a bit at Oakwell. Who knows though mate? We might improve after Christmas? We do tend to do contrasting half seasons - unless this is the good half!?
Interesting. Here's me thinking the Head coach is a replaceable part of a machine. I'll put it another way; without him and his obvious coaching and man-mangement ability, The Plan would be in tatters. I don't see how he is part of the plan. Unless we are after flogging him too...
"The Plan" in my opinion isn't simply about wheeling and dealing, buying players on the cheap, improving them and selling them on for profit. It's also seemingly about instilling a particular philosophy and style of play throughout the club from say U16/18 level through to the first team so from that point of view PH, Devaney, Hassell et al are all part of, and possibly key components of, "The Plan", at least in a wider sense.
Liverpool had the same mentality in the 70s if memory serves me well ....no matter at which level they played, they all played with the same style and shape ...who ever came in to the first team knew their role. Very successful hence all the trophy's
In tatters! No matter how good a coach Hecky is, and I think everyone bar one agrees he's excellent.....he couldn't achieve what he is doing without decent materials to work with. We identified a promising bunch of players and, currently, they're achieving what we were hoping for this season.
But only because of the coaching and tactical prowess of Hecky. If we had say Lee Johnson, we’d be worse off.
I know that you are intent upon slagging LJ off at every opportunity, but Bristol are 4th at the moment in our league. And doing quite nicely. Presumably without LJ as manager they'd be 10 points clear.
I’m commenting on his awful tenure as our manager. Perhaps he has learnt from the mistakes he made with us. From when I’ve seen Bristol play, they don’t seem to plays sideways backwards like we did under him.
Survival is my ambition for THIS season. If we do survive my ambitions next year will be to have a push at the play offs. Maybe that's not acceptable in your eyes but quite frankly I don't really care.
If Cryne is still in situ survival will be the aim next year. That last sentence makes you sound like a seven year old. A seven year old lass.
