yes it is

if a keeper handles it in a situation that he is allowed to then it isnt handball

if a keeper HANDBALLS it then it is erm handball which is a foul.

When a keeper handles the ball...

if he is inside the area and the ball last touched an opposition player then it is not handball.

if he is inside the area and the ball came off a defender but it wasnt intentionally passed to the keeper then it is not handball.

if he is inside the area and the ball was deliberatly played to him by a team mate then it is handball.

if he is outside the area then it is handball.

    erm no it int

if hayes blasted the ball into the top corner of the net and their keeper dove and saved it with his hands you'd get some weird looks if you shouted handball.

    Commentators amazed me

The ref made, what was, the correct decision, and then the commentators criticised him saying how could he give it! Bizarre - the decision was correct. Refs come in for enough criticism without them being criticised for making the right decision!

Look at it again - the ref did not allow the goal first and then change his mind, I reckon he saw what he thought was handball but wasn't entirely certain, so he decided to speak with linesman first who couldn't tell so then he went with what he thought he'd seen.

I said handball straight away whilst watching it.

    Who cares?

Was without a doubt a handball, and the ref gave the correct decision...

now I wont have a Barnsley/Chelsea supporter wannabee going round our house shouting "The mighty blues" for next week.

mourinho summed it up himself quite well lost with a bit of style for once. If man utd win the game in hand its 9 points. and i think they have chelsea still to play. now of course chelsea will still win the league but it might look more respectable this year

I watched it again - he whistled to signal a stoppage in play, though of course it was stopped, but did not signal for a goal.

It was handball, it was correct, to say the goal should have been awarded is just ridiculous.

    RE: Commentators amazed me

The ref may have made the right decision, but what did he base it on? Personally, I don't see how he could have seen that it was a handball so, he chose to disallow a goal on the say so of the Fulham players (no way the linesman could have seen it was handball either) which is not what referees are about. Yes, maybe they come under unfair criticism at times, but they should only make decisions on what they actually see.

    The ref's comment

Dean told BBC Sport: "I went over to Paul and he told me that as the ball has been played forward he is convinced there has been a handball."

He added: "We had a chat and we were happy it was handball.

"Having seen the TV replay we were spot on. We have got the biggest decision in the game correct.

"If we had have got it wrong we would have been absolutely battered. But we have got it right, and let's get a bit of praise for a change.

presumably you'll be getting your eyes tested by dirk today?

As the quote you posted today shows that he didnt signal for a fould but gave the goal originally
