Seems that's exactly what happened. They were willing to give it to Mellon and if we had won on Saturday they probably still would have. But if there is one good thing to come out of Saturday, then it was that the performance made appointing MM an untenable option, so being fair to the board, they have then moved very quickly to bring in the right man.

All's well that ends well.

ayup matey, Great news for me with Danny Boy coming back. Not expecting much from his firat game at Leeds.... but stranger things have happened at sea as they say. Good to hear Laura is home for the festive season... just keep her off the Bevvy and her POGUES albums

I'm good. Dead chuffed with the appointment of Wilson and can't wait for Laura to come home from uni.
I'm a very happy bunny.

 

But surely that then has a hint of Danny being 2nd choice.

 

I see it more that going for Mellon would have been making no choice. When it was apparent that a choice had to be made, Wilson was first choice. If you see what I mean.

Whatever, right decision in the end.

 

The club stepped back look at the situation and made the correct decision in a very professional manner who cares about the if's, buts or maybe's.
