    Group of us going for curry first, then will be seeing New Year in in there. Not the best pub in the world but don't fancy waiting around for 2 hours in minus temperatures for taxis which don't turn up.

    . . . starting with a nice bottle of 2006 Pouilly Fumé. Then onto a 2003 Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. And so on down to cleaning products by midnight.

    Well think we will have moved further up by the time you get in. Maybe starting there at about 8 and then a little crawl around. Then finishing up at the Gate. Yippee!! Fantastic end to the year!!

    Gate was my local before i moved into town. Not the best of pubs i know

    You can't miss me I'll have my penguin suit on. Would be good to have a pint.

    Use to go in the Gate years ago for lunch from work - they would let us ring an order through and it was on the table when we walked in. Very different now though, as you say.
