I love animals. What has happened is sickeningly sad. And I hope the culprit is punished appropriately. I don't think killing him is the answer though. I'm against the death penalty. For me, the most sick and depraved individuals should be locked up in a very small room for the rest of their lives, receiving no visits, being fed the bare minimum of un-tasty food, no TV, no literature, nothing, **** all. Proper punishment that.

But unfortunately, we prefer to try and 'rehabilitate' these kinds of people. Maybe it works for many? I dunno, and don't care. Once someone commits mass murder, or rapes lots of women/men, nonced children etc, for me they are beyond 'help'. As in, they don't deserve any. But aye, they're given a cushty number inside. TV, computers, literature, allowed visits, three meals a day, association with other criminals, pool, sports, gym etc etc. In fact, I'd imagine their punishment is summat that millions of humans would cherish.

It's is a terrible tragic thing that has happened.

But this was a dogs home. For stray dogs. Stray as a result of many people cruelty and neglect no doubt

No excuse for what has happened of course but there are plenty of ills in society. The death penalty isn't going to solve one of them.

Do you take in the local prison when on vacation?

I was though referring to the millions of starving or homeless folk. Bet they'd love three meals a day, roof over their head etc.

But anyway, we're getting into different areas now.

Look here, we know we are all over reacting and what we say here and at home is a result of the sickening thought first, of what happened to the poor animals, whether they were abandoned or not, and second, of what will or will not happen to the piece of **** that committed the crime.
What we say is a genuine, heartfelt response to all of this and I do believe that if he were put in front of any one of us right now he would get the most severe attrition we could mete out.
I would be totally shocked if excuses were found for his behaviour.
Also I would be among the first to "remonstrate" and show him the error of his ways.
Without sounding sanctimonious when I think of the hours and hours of love, care, attention, tears, stress, sleepless nights I've devoted to my two poorly doggies these last few weeks, and it is ongoing for Fudge right now, then I am consumed with rage and feel a need for retribution in the case of this incident in which no thought has been given for the care of innocent animals.
I note one article has said his family have been moved for their own safety. What a shame if they came back to a burned out home.

DT at it again. Pissed and posting. A terrible combination. DT misses the point of someone's post, flies off the handle then accuses the person he has directed his ire at of not understanding his point. Bit embarrassing really.
