RE: But the fact is We aint gonna move anywhere fast until we get a striker who can put the ball in the net on something like a rgular basis but Davey keeps saying midfield is his priority
No. I've lost confidence in the board. They seem too interested in trying to costantly keep saving and not spending. Whilst they have done a great job in turning the finances around, whilst they carry on in this state, we won't be able to fund the type of players we actually need. And that's why we end up with sub standard players who we have to pray play consistently above their level. And has previously mentioned, he could have blown the 1m on one player, he gets injured and we would really be without a paddle.
RE: No. I've lost confidence in the board. the boards plan was to ensure there is a football club....nothing more.... they budgeted for 7000 crowds and with 7 points from 33 thats what they may end up with....in League 1
RE: No. I've lost confidence in the board. How can you say that? The board has backed Davey more than I would have dared hope. How many players has he signed...15 or so. I'll say it yet again...900k on THREE crap strikers...that's why we're now in the **** with no money to spend. Shep is not to blame. Davey is.
RE: No. I've lost confidence in the board. Oh sorry I forgot. They did hand Davey a 4 year contract, ever since which it has all gone wrong. That could turn out to be the biggest mistake of the lot.
Who is to blame for this freefall? Not sure how this slump can be turned around... even getting the loan players back that we lost wouldn't guarantee an upturn in team performances, cos they'd be joining a poor squad underperforming as they're totally starved of confidence. I don't think Davey's the problem, he's trying to work miracles without the resources of most other Championship clubs. I don't think the board's the problem, just remember how close we came to going out of business. If we had a larger fanbase - maybe 13k per game - we'd have more resources, and a better chance all round. If we had fewer boo boys then with a 12th man we could've avoided the confidence crisis we have now. Still, at least they've been able to excercise their paid-for rights to shout abuse at our team during matches (wnkr) Personally I think our aspirations are unrealistic.
mine is slowly going theres no excuses now. This is HIS team its all well everyone saying we need a stiker, but those raving about Muller and Foster and Souza saying they are brilliant, the truth is theyre conceding too many goals. FACT. We need a "old head" at the back and yes a striker who knows where the net is regardless of how old
RE: Who is to blame for this freefall? So it isn't Davey's fault! It isn't the Board's fault and it isn't the players fault! It is all the fault of the minority of fans who choose to show their displeasure in a vocal manner. A minority which may soon become a majority. What planet are you from??
This thread is all that is wrong in football in the Autumn some of the posters were waxing on as if Davey was the new Wenger. Now we're losing he's clueless.
To me the truth lies somewhere in between.

RE: This thread is all that is wrong in football I'm not criticising him for the hell of it, just out of frustration at what is happening. Today's team selection was mind boggling. How can anyone defend him for that?
RE: Who is to blame for this freefall? Don't get me wrong... Davey should be doing much better at the moment, as should the players... neither are blameless. My point is that even if they were exceeding overachieving, we're asking for miracles. Without more support (i.e. money coming into the club) I can't understand how most fans expect us to stay up. As for your claim that it's only a 'minority' that boo & get on our own players backs, what planet are you from?
