Have either of the two acquitted shown any compassion towards the Kercher family? If so I haven't come across it.

I'm not saying they are necessarily nice people (although portraying them as otherwise was central to the prosecution's case) but that doesn't mean they were guilty. Unfortunately virtual no-one from the police through to the sensationalist press have shown the Kercher family any compassion.

I agree with you and TinaTyke - there's something not right about this whole thing. I'm sure we're now going to be bombarded with Knox on talk-show after talk-show (over here at least) and no doubt making millions to boot. I for one will not watch as I firmly believe that she was involved somehow. I feel very sorry for the Kercher family.

You seem to be an expert.

    So explain this:

You are told that your friend has been murdered.
    You were not involved.
You were not in the building.

The Police ask where you were & if you were involved.

    Do you:

    (a) Say you were not there, as the evidence cannot possibly show anything else

    or

    (b) Blame your bar-running boss & state you were in the next room while the murder was taking place and had to cover your ears to block out the screaming

    Yes.
I suppose the claim that the Police pressurised her into making this story up could be true.

And it could also be true that I have a 24" ****.

That dude who was convicted and is doing 15 years?

just saying like, maybe it was him, the one who's sperm was found inside her, and who's DNA was all over the murder weapon, and who admitted it. I'm going to stick my neck out and say it was him.

Re: You seem to be an expert.

Not an expert at all. I've just read a lot about the case and followed the original trial. As I understand it she was questioned for 14 hours straight in Italian without a translator or legal representation. She repeatedly said she wasn't there and eventually changed her story following what the police accepted was coercive questioning, and immediately retracted it.

A crimonologist made the point, why did the police use those methods - they are designed for extracting something you now happened, not in an initial interview when you are trying to find out what happened. When the evidence cane back against Guede it was an inconvenience to what the police had decided had happened.

There's plenty of examples of forced confessions proving to be wrong.

Thought the Police were taking her to court for libel over the coersion allegations and Knox was found guilty of slander over the bar manager accusations which suggests the judges who dismissed the DNA evidence as compromised also accepted she was telling porkies most of the time

Re: You seem to be an expert.

She was found guilty of claiming that the bar man killed her but if you listen to the judge he said that he accepted it was done under stressful circumstances. She admits making it up. As for the slander charge relating to police brutality (and brought by the police), that is a separate case which is yet to be heard.

Anyway, i'm only repeating everything that is freely available in the press so I'm going to shut up boring everyone.
