but the facts have never been contradicted by richie, any suggestion of a gagging order is ridiculous, therefore logic would dictate he would ahve come out and defending his reputation, - you know, the thing that would have halped his future careeer, pay the bills etc....
That's up to Ritchie not me. I agree about the gagging order being unlikely but I presume he is still waiting for his pay-off and I don't think he will be short of offers anyway, rumour has it he turned down Rochdale.
I'm not sure that Ritchie would spout his mouth off. He struck me as being too diplomatic for that. If he had spouted his gob off don't you think that would hinder any future employment prospects?
not if he was prtecting himself, and as some beleive on here, correcting lies that were being spread about him not wantimg to sign players
I think hes a nice guy ..but If GS was lying about transfers then I would have thought he would have defended his position rather than let his managerial skill be criticised.
No Cazi, I don't think Ritchie kept quiet for fear of damaging his future career prospects.
After all he now has a promotion on his CV and few managers can say that.
I think it was more to do with keeping his so called "laid back coaching methods" and his managerial style as reported in todays Chronicle out of the public domain.
That IMHO would do his future career more harm than defending himself in public.

The way you lot are going on you'd have thought we had! Eckersly, never actually heard of him. Lucas would probably have signed for AR anywayas he was sent packing along with AR and Cadamateri. Very early days and I'm certainly not counting any chickens, there's an awful long way to go.
How's theacademy doing the last couple of months anyway? It's supposed to be the future of the club, is anyone running it?

of course there is it would have done his career the world of good to slate his previous employer in the media wouldnt it. I wouldnt employ someone who did that in case they became bitter towards me after they'd left.
good point, wonder sho is taking over, especially after that fantastic report about it. im not counting my chickens yet, but ud agree its a step in the right direction? a positive move by teh board?
rubbish. never been in business obviously have you. think about it, you are sacked and its made public that the eason you were sacked was because you didnt sign players. generally, the media was supportive of AR when he left, therefore, it was the prime opportunity to set teh record straight but he didnt. would an emplyer be worried if AR simply told the truth to protect his reputation.... think. if you can.
why dont you think john. err amy, err whatever you're called. why is it that all that you have ever done on this bbs is post defending gordon shepherd and the board? every time somebody criticises them you come out of the woodwork to say how great they are. anybody would think that you are a director at bfc or something.
have you ever actually read my posts? did you read my posts when AR was sacked? or when people were saying he was sacked? i was defending ritchie, saying he should be kept on. no doubt you remember that, you being such a thorough fellow
supertyke, i know you dont like to be confronted with the facts.... but how do you respond? knowing that i was against the boards decsion when they sacked AR? or, heaven forbid, im an optomist, who personally doesnt think shep is out to screw bfc
Does Ritchie actually need to say anything? Plenty of people within football have come out in support of him, haven't seen many people in football saying well done Shep though.
true. but we only have oen account of why he left, i.e. not signing players, and although he may be popular in footy, that the only reason we have. if we agree theres no good reason for ritchie not to contradict it, then we can agree cant we, the reason he left was that he wouldnt sign players. however popular he is in football - he wouldnt sign players, and the squad he was faithful to, wasnt good enough. simple.
