I had to wear a face visor for 12 hours a day up until recently so I agree with you that most people can do it. For me I just dislike wearing them so I weigh up if I'm wiling to do so for the activity. So with the exception of food shopping I've switched most of my shopping to online or click and collect. As a result some local and independent shops I used to use have lost my custom.
Similarly if I had to wear one for 90 minutes at football stadiums I just wouldn't go. I wouldn't go to the cinema and sit with one on, I wouldn't have gone to the snooker recently and done the same. I accept that I could do it and may even get used to it, I just don't want to and so for the majority of the time I won't. I haven't got on a bus or in a taxi since masks came in for similar reasons. If I had to I would do it but wherever possible I avoid it.
In my personal case its been very good news for Amazon since the masks came in.

    It's like a chore.

If a leisure activity requires masks it just puts me off

Amazon have done extremely well in this pandemic. Especially as they pay less tax than most UK businesses but let's not mention that, its not relevant

When I first wire one to go to the hairdressers I felt really claustrophobic but it's second nature now. I personally think too many people are very precious about wearing masks when health professionals have to put up with it for 12 hour shifts.

Its the abnormality that I don't like.

I was happy with the world before 2020.

I just want that world back

The crush at the back of the stand before the Cardiff semi-final was next level, no chance of social distancing inside there - like being at the front at Leeds Festival

We all do. Howevet, life doesn't go smoothly. You have ups and downs. I just feel lucky that none of my family and friends have died from Covid and don't see the big deal to have measures in place to limit the spread, it won't be forever although it feels like it at the moment.

I think this is where the argument/conversation loses it's way a little bit. I hate wearing a mask. It doesn't feel natural, it's uncomfortable, it doesn't feel clean and hygienic, and often I just struggle with breathing and feeling like I'm getting enough air. I wear one in every setting I should be the way - like the tube in London all week and the train back from London today.

But the argument about 'health professionals wear them five days/50 hours a week' means nothing. I admired and respected those professionals before masks were introduced, and I admire them even more now I know what it feels like. Doesn't mean I feel any different about wearing one and I wouldn't consider myself precious.

Many "gown-ass" adults, and the more "grown-ass" you are the more this applies, look at the mouth of the person speaking to them. The main reason we do this is that our hearing degenerates over time. Quite considerably. Our ability to understand what the person speaking to us is saying is as much a visual experience as it is an audible one. We lip read. And that's just when communication is vocalised. Much of the way we communicate is entirely visual. There is nothing more reassuring than a smile. With a mask you can't see one.

If we'd worn masks when we climbed down from the trees, there wouldn't be a society. Read 12th Night.

What I don't understand is why someone with virtually no experience of life is telling us all that our experience of this is wrong when they haven't the first clue what they're talking about.

Not being able to take non verbal cues from other people is a different point though. I'm talking about when people are playing Supermarket Sweep with themselves and saying they run into the shop and out again in 3 minutes and then rip the mask off or saying they'd rather stick pins in their eyes than wear one.

I was trying to think of a polite way of saying this but I don't really see why I should when you couldn't extend the same courtesy to me. **** off. You literally have no clue what some of my life experiences have been.

All sweary now too. Yes I have a clue, because you put them on here regularly. Don't look for a polite way of saying anything, it's not required, you've already displayed exactly how much you disregard anyone who isn't you.

Not to interject into this little tit for tat but by the same token you have literally no clue what the experience is for other people wearing a mask.

Exactly this, but the fear by the BBC etc is scaring people to death and we seem along way from normal

Not sure I've seen any, I've seen 2 lockdowns while they were mandatory and numbers not decreasing when they were introduced. Also at a football game were sat outside where the chance of spread is apparently very minimal.
