Why would ANYONE ask for one ? I wouldn't show myself up ASKING !

 

Again, if you want one too much, you don't deserve one, don't matter what colour you are, same goes for Beckham

 

I think he deserves one. I think a lot of people forget just how good of a player he was due to some of the daft comments he’s made & the disappointing managerial career he’s had.

Consistently excellent for England. I can’t think of many players in my lifetime that performed well so in major tournaments.

Having said that I don’t care much for the honours system. I can scarcely believe some of the people that get them. I’d happily bin them once they’ve got rid of the House of Lords.

He should have got an award towards the end of his playing career or soon after.

He is right that he achieved a lot. It should have been recognised.

But this many years later, the ship has sailed somewhat.

And his conceitedness, inflated sense of his own importance, and plain cheek to blatantly just ask for recognition - it doesn’t sit well. It really doesn’t.

 

Sol was a great player for England and maybe deserves an honour, but he's the last person who should be banging on about it. Like Charlie's going to read that and think "He's right you know, I'll give him a gong next time"...

 

No doubt he was a quality player and very consistent for both Club & Country but someone should advise him to stop with the poor me interviews.

 

Beat me to that post mate.........Beckham is an absolute disgrace with reaction he gave when overlooked after promoting London Olympics......he was only doing for himself.....he can’t bear being out of the limelight the sad man he is!
