He is starting low down, but only because he has given up hope after holding out for top jobs.
Personally I have never taken to the bloke , he just oozes arrogance, never slow to blow his own trumpet and I think he will find that’s the reason nobody has taken a chance on him before now

Frank Lampard didn't have to start at the bottom of the football league...

I think Sol Campbell has himself to blame for not getting a job for so long because every time he appears on TV he comes across as a very strange bloke.

You’ve only to look at the England team he picked in the summer to have serious reservations about him as a manager.

If you look at the highest profile black / mixed race players, certainly from the last 10 years or so you’re looking at Campbell who I wouldn’t be confident in, Ashley Cole who’s always come across moody & had personal issues all over the media & Rio Ferdinand who comes across as a bit of a tit & has also had personal issues all across the media.

Rightly or wrongly for black / mixed race players to make it into management they could do with the top players coming across well & for some big name black players to do well in management.

Jermaine Jeans is about the only black / mixed race ex-player I can think of in recent years who’s worked on TV who comes across as an intelligent bloke who doesn’t have a history of his name been plastered in the media for the wrong reasons.
