Yep been on holiday on my own for a week twice in years gone by, loved it. Crete and Dubai. Canaries probably best bet if you mainly want warmth, bars etc - my preference is Fuerteventura having been to 3 of them. But city breaks also an option. I'd consider Barcelona - city and beach combined.
I was sad enough to book a solo holiday Always try to book a weeks holiday from work towards the end of February and usually go off to visit daughter and family in Northern Spain (can be pleasant but also can be wet and miserable). Anyway, hadn't booked anything and with just days to go decided to have a look ar what was on offer in the Canaries. Never done it before so had a look at LoveHolidays website and on the first page was a 4day all inclusive at Playa del Ingles on Gran Canaria for £432, flights with Thompson from Manchester. Turned out to be one of mi best holidays - weather was spot on although cool in the evening, booked a day trip (mini bus) up into the mountains and Las Palmas, explored Maspalomas, Mogan and Puerto Rico, chilled out by the pool, ate very well indeed and wished I had booked a few days longer. Met and chatted with plenty of folks although I was one of the few on a solo trek.
I went on a solo trip to Tenerife during a summer at uni for a few months. I had a nice time but it was a different holiday to what I’d do now in my 30s.
If you like eating, you could do worse than venture to Bologna, the food capital of Italy. I had a deep fried Calzone. Loads to see and do, train links to places like Imola and the Ferrari factory. An amazing place and one I wouldn't hesitate to go back to. Oh, the food.
Costa Teguise in Lanzarote is great. Just the right balance in terms of nightlife and relaxation. Found a craft ale bar as well on my last visit as a craft brewery has opened on the island. Far better than drinking the normal fizzy Sam Miguel type beer Some really nice restaurants as well plus the bars are not overrun with screaming kids or rowdy stag dos either.
