He's passionate about it as many are, but booing while the Reds are playing isn't the way. Go to the funeral and have a good boo.

I agree I know she was hated by most Barnsley fans but having a minutes booing at a Barnsley game is the wrong thing to do in my opinion.

If people want to celebrate with street parties and the like that's fine but if you must boo go down to her funeral and do it there.

We could always sing Ding Dong the witch is dead. If we do have a minutes something.

Breaking out into Boos with 5mins of the game remaining is just wrong to me

we can make whatever noise you want for me just so long as some displeasure is shown toward that old cow.

if we were to boo thatcher as far as I know it wouldn't be the first time I've heard booing at oakwell,ex players and anybody from Sheffield usually gets it if I remember rightly

Can you imagine. 1-0 up in the 87th minute, idiots start booing. Charlton feed off what's happening and get an equaliser. Barnsley fans start fighting among themselves, Charlton go and get a winner

Exactly, also some of our players might not agree with the booing - it's a personal choice and if might get them thinking about how direspectful it is rather than playing. Bobby for one is very religious and so probably doesn't agree with celebrating death.

Isn't that the idea, with her being 87 when she died? Whenever it is, if its any point during the game, it's a crazy idea

no,it would be on 84 minutes as far as I know to show support for miners like myself who stood up to her for 12 months to try and keep our jobs and stop this town falling into the mess it has.
theres plenty of posts showing why many of us hate her and I personally think it would be fitting to do something, she destroyed this town and left it destitute. What was once a busy thriving town is now a ghost town,I cannot stress enough my hatred towards her.
for the younger ones reading this if you were around before thatcher shagged the town up you would know what i'm on about.

if you don't want booing, fair enough, think of a song and i'll sing it

Regardless of your opinion on Thatcher, if you're going to pay your money to watch the reds, then support them.

Booing is utterly pointless, in my opinion of course.

I endured a Keith Hill 2012 and still didn't feel the need to boo. So there's no way that I'll be booing on Saturday in an absolutely crucial game for the club.

Re: Some BFC fan on Facebook is trying get 60 seconds worth of booing going on Saturd

This is a bizarre thread that hoes off at lots of tangents.. Firstly booing is daft, singing a song makes more sense, is easier to do, and the meaning would be understood by all.

Secondly those getting worked up about the idea of booing seem to be suggesting it is against the team or would be perceived that way - this would only happen if the context was right. The players are as likely to think there's something kicking off in the crowd which would effect both players.

Thirdly, politics is inseparable from sport.

Fourthly, football isn't more important than the horrible legacy of Thatcherism. Even if we are in a relegation battle. However, I'd rather her memory doesn't invade my enjoyment of the match to be honest.

So, its completely understandable to want to do something that reminds people of her nastiness, a song makes more sense than booing, and can we do it before the match then enjoy the game rather than let her ruin something else even in death?

We're alive , she's dead , we should be happy and partying not depressively booing. That makes it look like we've lost (in life not the match) when in reality we've outlasted her even though she tried to wipe us off the face of the earth which in my twisted mind means WE WON!!!!!

I think they are absolute pillocks. I might even put £10 on an away win. No doubt they are the sort that shout 'scab' at every Forest match. Bairns that were born in the 80s or later.
