Check your spam? Marketing emails quite easily end up in there and add the address to your safe senders list (glad i can teach you something! I know you struggle with IT ). That said, I’ve had one today and at least one other I remember relating to playoff ticketing.
I wasn't blaming the club. I don't think you can allocate a ticket to a random family member though can you? Or to put it another way if I bought tickets tonight for me and my brother and I'm a season ticket holder with an online account but he isn't so doesn't have one how would I possibly allocate it to him as he doesn't have an account anywhere. I think that's more of a Ticketmaster thing than a club thing but something that could be looked at to find a way to do it maybe. The other reason I couldn't do that to be honest is that I haven't got a brother.
I haven't had anything and it's not in any spam or junk folder. I got a weekly newsletter email on the 19th (I think) but nothing else. Actually the weekly newsletter only comes to me every few weeks too. It's so intermittent that sometimes I get one and I can't remember the last one I'd had. Always figured it was just me to be honest but maybe there's a problem with them if others aren't getting them. I got one last week from you lot about redfearns bar too. That's the first one I can find from the trust. Have I been missing emails from you too or do you just hardly ever send them?
Do you think this has something to do with only poorer view tickets being available though? Have all the good blocks sold out or are they being held back?
I was more interested to know if it was targeted. Is the mailshot clever enough to skip those of us who already bought? Chris who I bought for, he did get the mail. Deffo not in Spam
My realisation from the Bolton game and the Wembley trip is that we need extra capacity at Oakwell for home fans, in a decent, modern stadium. As much as I like the ‘new’ stands, when they’re full, the concourses aren’t sufficient to cope (except the East stand lower). Hopefully, we’ll receive some exciting news in the near future that will bring about such improvements. As for now, let’s all concentrate on doing the ‘treble’ over our neighbours.
Eh? The ponty end concourse is just as big as most, the north stand is big too, the east is huge. The west stand obviously lets us down and needs rebuilding but that's no reason to write off the stadium. Half the stands in England are older than the east stand.
I’d say the Ponty end concourse isn’t the best place for families and young kids at half-time. The Family Stand at half-time is just a long queue for the food kiosk with many not getting served before the second half begins. The North stand has often got reduced capacity due to the behaviour of away fans, which must surely be due to the lack of space. I’m not suggesting we should build from scratch, but just wanted to highlight my views on what we’ve got.
There’s barely any actually available compared to the 15000 or so we have left to sell. I’ve been trying to buy for a fellow bbser but no luck unless you want the cheapest or most expensive.
The north stand is due to issues in the seating area and our stewards' historic failure to stop pitch invasions. Family stand for me should have a corner stand identical to the existing one built with family friendly facilities built into it. Would be a right moneymaker on nonmatch days
If pitch invasions are going to happen, they'll happen. Harsh saying historic failure regarding stewards as an insult. Happens everywhere. Massive respect to clubs like forest, their fans didnt do a pitch invasion when guaranteed safety. But will always get numpties it
No, it was sent to everyone on there. It's very difficult to understand at times, and something I'm only just getting involved in. I know folk can unsubscribe or whatever. Lots to work on/at over the summer.
A corner stand to extend the family area sounds good! I’d suggest stopping away fans getting on the pitch needs something extra to dozens of stewards. My suggestion would be like the netting they used to have at Wembley, something like you’d get on an assault course, that could be dropped in the event of an emergency. I’ve watched many games from the Family stand and seen how easy it is for away fans to get to the edge of the pitch, when a simple barrier could be used to keep them in the seating area.
It isn't said as an insult, it's factual. Don't forget though that the stewarding company involved at the time of historic failures is no longer used by the club
It's a shame sales have fizzled out quite so quickly, was hoping the final tally would be closer to 30k than 20k, but that's now looking unlikely. I did get the email yesterday, but I'd already bought my ticket. It was also buried in amongst all the other emails that Google classes as promotional, so was a while before I noticed it.
I'm disappointed with this to be honest. Wasn't expecting a sell out from us or anything like but I thought we could be somewhere between 25-30k. There's a number of factors going against us to be fair. The fact its against them lot will put a few off, the cost of living, the initial balls up with the tickets, the way they are not opening blocks up for us, maybe even the fact its our 5th visit to the new Wembley compared to their 2nd. I hope its not as demoralizing for the players as it will be for a lot of fans to look up at the top tier half empty again.
