Like I said " the most quintessentially Italian place".

Went a few years back. if memory serves they shut part of the centre of Sorrento at night to traffic and create a pedestrian area of bars and restaurants. I did the whole Pompei and mount Vesuvius tour. Amalfi is brill and the coach journey is better than any Disney ride. Sadly no beaches but down in the harbour is excellent with cafes that are floating in the bay..Enjoy..

We went last July and absolutely loved it, the scenery is beautiful and like others have said there's loads to see and do.
Capri is very busy but well worth seeing, we went on an organised tour that was very good and the return boat trip took us around the island seeing all the super yachts which was great.
    You'll have a great holiday.

We visited Naples probably a decade ago now and it’s one of very few places I wouldn’t go back to.

Serious fascist vibes, issues with rubbish and graffiti everywhere, even on churches.

And although people were generally ok, we had 5 or 6 instances where locals ranged between rude and nasty.

We’ve been to maybe 20-25 different places in Italy, Naples is bottom of the list by a distance.

We did go to Herculaneum which was incredible and there are a couple of things well worth seeing.
