Here we go what? Did you think more wickets would follow?

Loose shot gifts England a wicket.

Not a single England bowler has ripped through a few wickets.

Another long long day unless Aussies make a game of it by throwing their wickets away .

    Boycott would agree...

ya what, ya what, ya what, ya what

    94/4 Lunch. Lovely.
England bowled well early on. In Australis it seems you go for about 1/1.5 runs more per over than you would in England even if you bowl really well.
Only Andersons first spell wasn't the best. Seemed to bowl short and defensive.

Very good first session. Stokes good. Anderson needed that.

Fingers crossed one or two of them come out really firing and blow the Aussies away. Should look to get them out for under 250 now.

    Need to keep bowling full.
If you get driven so what, you will get a wicket.

I really do think Stokes changes everything for England though.

He's been a definite bright point. Possibly the only one.

Hopefully a few others can up their game

Only just turned it on, and it's not looking so lovely now, particularly when I see how well England were doing early on. Shame that. Can we get them out for less than 300 now, just to give us a bit of a chance?

Very well done to Ben Stokes. Time to say goodbye to Test cricket for Carberry and Anderson, I'm afraid.

Its all a bit embarrassing.......you'd have thought Carberry would have noted the field placements behind him

You really should learn to contain your bravado where the England cricket team are concerned, it saves on disappointment. Another disaster after taking the top order cheap. We don't know how to get tail enders anymore by the looks of it.

Come on the aussies. I'll bet my uncle is feeling good this morning.

Is this Stokes guy the new loving boy in Hemsworth?

It's just that you mentioned in him every post

Root simply hasn't been managed properly and let's hope they haven't ruined him. Played delightfully at 6 early last summer and should have been left there to develop his test game for a while. Like both Carberry and Compton, when Joe was pushed up the order he never seemed know whether to stick or twist. Can't help think there's something wrong wi the coaching. They don't seem to play with confidence or freedom and appear frightened . Look at Kerrigan at the Oval-terrified. Look at Finn-he seems ruined now too.
As for Borthwick he can't possibly be selected as a bowler. 28 wickets at 38? If they won't pick Monty then we have to forget spin. And if they could send for Borthwick then why not send for Onions?
The players we have are better than they are showing.
I think the problem lies at the top

Little bit disappointment with the score because when I went to Sleep England were bowling really well.

Anderson and Broad causing the Australians a lot of problems.
Smith hadn't a clue which way the ball was going and the ball hit him on the pad a few times but just too high.

Good to see Stokes got a lot of wickets, six in the innings is great for him and surely he'll be at 6 in the summer against Sri Lanka

But we probably won't score 25 0(that's being generous), and be chasing 450+ batting last, we have been a massive let down again.
