If you genuinely believe that the woman who amended the race equality act so she didn’t have to comply is a better option than an environmentalist, you need to have a solid look at your priorities.
Quite amusing that many on here won't stomach a day of minor inconvenience to them for the death of a monarch but they were alright for kids to miss months of schooling in an ill conceived and futile attempt for them to avoid an illness that doesn't really affect them. (I don't think things should be cancelled for this either).
Clive Myrie just said ont BBC that energy bill news is now 'insignificant' now we have news on the queen. And before that Huw Edwards had a snide remark about Meghan not travelling to Balmoral as she wouldn't be welcome anyway, whilst minutes before reporting Kate hasn't gone either
Just an observation, but I haven't received a single news notification on my phone today. I usually get half a dozen and more. Always get at least 4. None. That in itself would make me believe the situation is extremely serious. For those talking about sporting fixtures (apologies if already posted, I haven’t read the thread) the protocol states they're all cancelled for 10 days. A lot of people are going to be upset by the news. Won't hurt us to respect that.
Absolutely not important in the grand scheme of things but just typical that my dad finally decided the first match he wanted to attend with one of the flexi tickets, that I’ve had for nearly two years, was this Saturday and now it won’t be happening.
Don't listen to this. Some people don't have much help. I feel sad for the queen & her family, like I would do for anyone. Some people do die totally alone. That is a lot sadder.
Got a notification now. I suspect the news agencies have known a while and announcement has been choreographed.
'Met' her in Wakey back in the 70s when they visited. Mam had us up in the early hours to get down for a spot right outside the cathedral. She stopped right in front of us to take some flowers from mum. Can still remember what she said to her - "the gardens of Yorkshire must be bare of roses" I'm no royalist, but appreciate there are plenty that are & obviously she's given it a right good crack. Put a shift in, as we'd say. Thoughts with her family.
