I think Bellingham, Kane and Southgate have just given me two of the greatest footballing moments of my life in one game.

Don't particularly like the bloke but he's free to do it as he sees fit after tonight.

You've been one of his biggest critics. If the guy is shi.te he's shi.te surely? A better coach would give you more moments of joy in one game than this clown/comedian/jester....

I'm not saying he's premium Alf Ramsey. Did you enjoy the game?

No. I did jump up and down like an immature pogo stick when Bellingham scored but most of the game I was a cross between Victor Meldrew and Anne Widdecombe

I did. Fantastic game. Football at its best. Drama that the best paid Hollywood screenwriter could not get close to.

Of course not, he logged off as soon as Harry Kane headed in the winner. Similar to how a number of the 'usual suspects' do in a match day thread when Barnsley take the lead.

We were on the same side when it came to Barnsley, but I've switched on ya during this England run bud. Its rhubarb:p

We got extremely lucky! If extreme luck wins it, then ill doth my cap to Southgate!

As we know, Bellingham got his goal from the chaos created by the flick on after the ball was launched into the penalty area from that throw in.

What annoys me is that I've realised that any time during the regulation 90 minutes that goal is guaranteed not scored for the simple reason that the throw in is going back down the wing and around the centre backs. Don't try to score, don't score. Who would have thought? Try to score, score. No shots on target during the regulation 90 minutes. No attempt to score. How did he think England would win?

Then in extra time with that desperation still coursing through the veins, the Slovakian keeper punches partially clear. Any time during the 90 minutes that ball is being played back to the defence to recycle. But this time, Eze(?) volleys it back in, he gets it wrong and it bounces into the ground, going wide, but the point is it doesn't matter. Toney nods it back in and goal. All from having a go.

The number of goals scored from the edge of the box in this tournament is quite high.
We spent about an hour last night playing around the edge of their area and yet I don't think we tried a single shot from that distance until Rice had a go in the last few minutes and hit the post with Kane nearly converting the rebound.

That's a stretch IMHO but I agree with your wider point.
