It's going to blow the racists minds if the 17 year old is named at some point and they see he's got a European name.

 

We’ve had years of social media tapping into a lot of things. People are so reliant, almost addicted to it. Then you have the rise of manipulation of the systems by using AI bots to target narratives. A polarised society is one that doesn’t work. There are a number of puppeteers pulling the strings. Russia, China, big companies, etc. But it is telling that most of these social media platforms are banned in China.

 

I honestly believe there is no choice now when it comes to Twitter. Due to the unmoderated nature of that platform I believe the government needs to call Elon Musk to explain himself to parliament and be presented with these networks of provable misinformation he allows and in fact encourages.

He should be told unless he's willing to moderate misinformation then we will have no choice but to outlaw the platform in this country.

 

I came of twitter a year ago - an unregulated cesspit. As I've said before, the Chinese state is pretty awful, but they do have some things right and banning twitter is certainly one of them. I know that even if we blocked it people would just use VPNs, but its the message it sends as well. I don't know how you'd do it but it needs to be seen as a tool which is aiding and abetting terrorism, and the EDL needs to now be labelled a terrorist organisation.

 

I'm confident that most people currently being exposed to the filth on there would not be getting VPNs.

 

Axel Rudakubana has just been named. As I said European name. With his home address and details of both parents including old media karate articles, there was no point keeping him a secret.

 

A judge is allowed to rule that this law should not be applied and gas in this case. The serious nature of the crime and the misinformation and speculation almost certainly played a part.

Now we sit back and wait for Stephen Yaxley to make it about him to the extent that he actually damages the trial.

Daily Mail got him named. They appealed for it and won. His parents came over here from a predominantly Christian country, yet we had idiots like David Vance fanning the flames after Mosque attacks. I can't remember a time in my life where the country has felt so divided.

I believe I actually told you this was the likely outcome.

Until a judge has seen him and ruled it was against the law.

It was explained clearly and has happened in exactly that way

You were told that it was illegal until a judge agreed that it could be released and that that was quite likely to happen.

The rioting wasn’t due to the name not being revealed. It was due to racists spreading lies on the internet. If we can stop that bit first then perhaps we won’t have any more riots.

Yeah I agree that is what the judge has done now, but didn’t want what you said to look like you were saying that knuckle draggers sharing a fake Islamic name were somehow only doing it because the real name hadn’t been released.

 

Yes very tactical to refuse to be searched at the border. Therefore arrested under the terrorism act as is standard procedure. Now they all claim he's been called a terrorist while this kid inn Southport hasn't.
