please educate me Please teach me how that anybody on Benefits can not rent a property form a private landlord who accepts those on benefits, and agree a monthly rent upfront at the start of the tenancy. Then please educate me on how that person on benefits can not then claim a top up or all the rent from the government. if they are getting lees, then get a cheaper property. and to answer another post, probably the reason why some private landlords do not accept those on benefits is that those on benefits think everybody owes them something and that the rich landlord doesn't need my rent so I'm not giving it to them. I own my home and pay a mortgage, if the interest rates go up so does my mortgage in effect it is the same as being paid out less, will I go moaning about my mortgage tax!!!! no, if I live my live running the risk of my income/expenditure changing then so should they, and then adapt. Why should those who have never worked, have no intention of working have a bigger house/garden/rooms/off road parking all for free while some poor sod who goes out to work every day can only afford a 2 bedroom terrace. They may lose about £14 a week in benefits, but I bet they all go to Benidorm for 2 weeks a year, have a 3D samsung tele on the wall with full sky package, and a chaved up BMW outside, but hey, they have to pay £14 more a week to get by, tragic int it.
Sorry madmark, I'm not one of t*******s spawn, or a self serving bell. I am however a realist that was born and bred in a mining house that taught me that if you cannot afford it you can't have it. I was also brought up to believe that if you wanted something work hard and get it. not to expect somebody else to pay for it. I lost my job about 5 years and struggled, and because I had savings I could claim sod all. but I downsized my car, cancelled the sky TV, tightened the purse strings, didn't book a holiday, didn't decorate etc, basically all the things needed to get by. Are you telling me that these people cannot possibly and I mean it is truly impossible to make £14 a week in savings by cutting back to pay for the empty extra bedroom they have in the government provided house?
People on benefits include Disabled, one parent families who are left destitute for one reason or another, partner violent, killed at work, accident, disease etc. And many more deserving cases of which I am pleased my taxes etc are going to help. But hey you just keep reading the mail and sun and using their role models as the face of Britain's benefit recipients.
no mate, just a normal guy, from tarn, 2 kids, 3 bedroom house, not a bad job but not great, mortgage, dog, 2006 reg family car. So sorry not spouting off because I am way better than they are. just normal joe I'm afriad
you are so well informed please tell us exactly how much these people are receiving. (Without looking at an old copy of the mail
I know I might sound like a nob but come on, life isn't easy and choices need to be made. If you need to downsize then downsize or face cuts in benefits. its £14 a week
it doesn't matter what they are receiving, I have absolutly no idea, what i do know is they will be receiving about £14 a week less, so they need to get over it and adapt, make household cuts to the tune of about £14 to keep the same lifestyle, and stop expecting it from everybody else.
People they are asking to downsize include disabled people who have had thousands spent adjusting their house ad surroundings to enable them to live with a little less struggle than they have had to. This govt has not Left any contingency for this and expect them to move to a house that is not adapted and no funds to adapt it whilst the family that move into a disabled house will have thousands sent to readjust absolutely crazy. As a footnote this policy is not to relieve the housing market or save on benefits. This policy is purely to divide the have nots whist the top lick off the cream
