    Is that why when you are driving through one of the endless motorway average speed check zones @50mph lorries are coming past you? They have more accurate speedos?

    I think it was 170 mph, that episode was on not so long ago. One of the very first episodes of top gear. Also myth busters tested it out and it's correct. Going that fast it won't even flash!

    Don’t stress I’ve been through every day for 19 years always forget what speed I was doing..,I’ve gave over worrying if I was speeding going through. Never flashed or had a ticket yet……,.there Iv said it

    You’ve misread what I’ve posted, the OP asked how I could tell there was no camera in it. So I told him how I knew there was no camera in the box, the camera inside the box is really easy to see.

    On a serious note you'd only catch it in your rear view mirror in daylight. And If a clear day not at all. It may not flash.

    Technical question: When speed cameras detect a speeding vehicle, does the procedure involve ANPR or is a physical examination of the photographic evidence conducted when the powers that be are deciding on whether to issue a FPN/prosecution?
