Because it's not an actual company. A better analogy would be you sponsoring us on behalf of trees. A save the planet type deal. Or on behalf of the euro. Put a big € on the front of the shirt. They're not 'customers' in the traditional sense they're just people that own the coin.

Just been on club's website, no mention at all of Hex and not included in list of sponsors at bottom of front page.

    Interesting?

Unprofessional as it gets though isn't it? Particularly when the club supports positive mental health initiatives and that wording is just completely unacceptable in that context.

Someone in a leadership role at the club would be given short shrift if they acted like that publicly. We should expect the same standards of our commercial partners.

dunno how relevant that is. just might not have updated the site yet. the statement announcing the deal is still on the news page, from 5th august. if that had gone, that might be a bigger indication something was afoot...

Richard Heart did a tweet in which he pretended to come out as gay due to the fact he was wearing an earing and a floral shirt. Only to post shortly later that he was joking and it was just an April fools. Stuff like that isn't the stuff you should be joking about at, especially if you are the founder of a company and posting that on your public and verified Twitter profile.

The other ones who you say are nobodies have been mentioned as being involved in making this happen. If that is true then they aren't nobodies. But admittedly that part could be false. Either way, the way this owner conducts himself online isn't very professional, if this is how he acts online then it isn't the type of person and business we should be working with.

He didn't actually say 'are you mental'. That's why I said 'along the lines of'. Think the reply was 'Hey Genius. This is wrong' but a bit more brash than that

But they don't work for HEX and there's nothing to substantiate their claims yet. Which is my point. They don't 'run HEX'.

Also wasn't referencing any other tweets from Richard Heart. Just the one that mentioned Saudi Arabia, which was the one being shared and trying to go viral. Wouldn't want anyone getting a letter from a US lawyer for defamation of character or anything like that.

"Are you insane" is pretty similar. And there was nothing particularly accusatory in the statement, it was balanced and asking the club to look into the matter further, which is entirely reasonable and appropriate in the circumstances.

It's self-selecting; the type of person who becomes a cultish devotee of a crypto-currency is more likely to be immersed in the online meme/4chan/QA stuff; it's all an extension of the same subculture.

They laugh at 'normal' people who don't 'get it,' and it's rife with misogyny and homophobia. Their very defence in this case is that Hex itself is not a company, so in a way you can't hold all supporters by the standards of the outspoken hateful few. However, because of they type of people that tend to be wound up in this, I think the club have made a mistake associating with them in any way.

Obviously, they were struggling to get the amount they wanted from a shirt sponsor at L1 level. I know for a fact they were pushing existing local sponsors to do it, but obviously some Hex supporters had enough to chuck at it as a boost to their online presence etc. Given the problems with fan engagement last year, I think it's a very short-sighted choice. They need to get rid and take less from a local firm, or donate it to charity.

Was referencing this one below mate. Hadn't seen the other until just now. I'm not seeing most things given the Trust Twitter account has had over 2,500 notifications in the last 12 hours. Not sure I agree on it not being accusatory, was definitely on the line of that, which it should be for the other three tweets shared at the same time for the King Couture account or whatever it was called.

'Hey genius. Can you explain why me supporting your rights, you are framing as an attack? Do you even know me and what I stand for? Perhaps you should learn.'

The post from ST earlier in this thread seems to have gone unnoticed tho, where Heart uses "gay" as an insult, ok it was 4 years ago, but it's not like it's a tweet from a teenager dragged up, he was a grown man then, perhaps being more unguarded at the time.

Khlaed needs removing from position, it's been evident for a long time that he just isn't up to the job. It's scandalous and serious negligence from the owners that he's lasted so long.

Enough arse kissing, if this was Conway it would be called out.

    That's not good.

It's difficult to know what to do when something in the past like this surfaces. In isolation it could maybe be moved past but given the current fuss it's more fuel on the fire.

He's defending himself on Twitter. For anyone to move on this all needs to be a clear statement from the club and Heart.

An article on the website with Khaled and Heart condemning the language used, and assuring fans that those people aren't involved with Hex.

Which, given the sterling work we've done previously on mental health issues (remember Gauthier's letter?) isn't a great look to be associated with either.

Neither is his underlying message in numerous tweets flaunting his apparent wealth and implying that those who don't have/aspire to the same are somehow inferior (which is then being echoed by the multiple followers on Twitter).
