I get all that. But fact is, he's seen as the undisputed champion. He holds the belts that Wlad won. He's therefore the unified champ. But yes, weird when Wilder has the WBC belt. It probably boils down to money as do most things in the world that make no sense. But enough of all that and well done to Andy Murray, a British sporting legend.
My winner would have been Jessica Ennis Hill for winning gold after very few months of training after becoming a mother. Joe Gallagher should have got coach of the year for training three current boxing world champions. Novak Djorkovic was my overseas pick for barely losing a tennis match all year and winning nearly all of the major events in the calendar. Team of the year our Ashes winners because we were heavy underdogs to win it. Something quite amusing in Andy Murray being one of only four people ever to win a personality award. He was consistent over three days at a time to carry his country to Davis Cup glory pretty much single handedly. He wasn't consistant enough over 7-14 days though in the five biggest events of the year. We played nations likes USA and Australia who have seen better days. We didn't have to play Switzerland, Spain on Clay or Serbia for example. He doesn't risk his life like Tyson Fury or Lewis Hamilton.
Either Mo Farah for another two gold medals in the 5000m and 10,000m, or Greg Rutherford for completing the Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth gold clean sweep. Those achievements are both incredible. No distance has done what Farah has done. Not even the great Kenyans have done that. Or Rutherford, for being the best on the planet. Sadly Murray won, and although the Davis Cup was a huge achievement I think he's probably won it simply because everybody in Scotland voted for him.
Just watching it now. Could they get any further up the Irish's arse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
