    He’s actually discussed that line in a few interviews and he said that he did worry over using that term in the song but decided to go with it because he wanted to keep as true as possible (meaning that’s how the top brass spoke at the time)

    IIRC Elvis Costello has some kind of wheel on the stage with all his songs on it. They spin the wheel and play what comes up - and he's got a similar length of productive career...

    And here's his recent Hungry heart song, which I see is still a very crowd-interactive song btw. I think he's always done this though hasn't he, with this one.

    Yeah seen that, his Drs as advised him to take at least a 10 day break, he’s first international artist to win the Ivor Novello top prize which he collected the night after the Sunderland concert and he apologised for his voice (you could tell he was struggling with his vocals then)
