    Good things sprouts. Tasted horrible to my pre-teen taste buds but now I appreciate the texture and flavour. Just as an aside if there was a league table of favourite vegetables where do sprouts go? I think they'd be pushing for play offs missen.

    Seem to remember the London Tykes ordering plate after plate of sprouts in the Mitre in Holland Park after the usual defeat to QPR around Christmas time one year. Think they may have been the most incredible sprouts I've ever tasted. That really happened right @Hicksy
    @Loko the Tyke :D

    Not liking sprouts is genetic. Anyone with the gene TAS2R38 can taste phenylthiocarbamide, which is extremely bitter. Anyone without that gene can't - and apparently likes the taste. Personally, they are one of the foulest foods available - but because the Missus loves them, I have to eat them too :(:(:(. She thinks Coriander tastes of soap instead of the citrusy goodness I enjoy (that is a different gene)

    Me and your missus are on the same page.
    I’d really wish I liked coriander as it’s in many meals I enjoy, but as soon as I get a taste of it raw, it’s just soap

    You can both taste aldehydes (which do taste of soap) in the coriander leaves. Out of interest, what is your opinion of goats cheese? - she thinks it tastes of farmyard!

    I’m fine with goats cheese, though it does smell a bit ‘farmyard’.
