We need 10 players minimum, Central defender and midfielder, left & right back, (would like to see Templton pushed forward and given a chance) 3 wingers, and 3 strikers, and they all need to be signing 2 year minimum contracts, also the times about right to be extending Winnall & Hourihanes contracts by at least 12 months to try and avoid this mass recruitment bull **** next summer.
You cant sign all the players on 2 year a above contracts... cos if you do sign 10 players 3-4 wiil be loans. Then out of the other 6-7, you will be lucky to get 2-3 that fit in and play well consistently, maybe not even that many.... The rest you'd be stuck will and have to pay off.... All whats happened before.
Posted similar after that game and had a few replies of "More pressure on us" "We were at home with 10,000 fans, bigger expectation etc etc" with us being like Man U... Worst excuse in football - gelling, bedding in...
There's a difference, in that most of the players we've shipped out were not up to it. (Berry, Cranie perhaps the exceptions) The core of the squad we have there looks good for this league, which means a few quality new signings could send us flying up the league. Or we could be terrible.
Oh, and it was too hot - don't leave that one out. Crawley, being southerners, would be more used to the sun
To be fair the board are far more patient than the fans. I have seen players written off before they have signed and managers booed 3 games into a season.
The last season we ended having the same manager we started the campaign with was 2011/12. Perhaps the board ought to consider showing greater backbone if things don't go exactly according to plan by backing their own judgement & man.
That is correct. Trouble begins when you start having to accept on a long term basis the manager who's holding the parcel when the music stops. And then it seems he's tearing it to pieces. So...let em carry on at the Well - it makes for entertainment and it's only football after all. Let's face it - if we'd left things till the end of the season then Danny would most likely have gone. And we'd be after a lower league bright star like..M Mellon or D Flitcroft...Or perhaps someone licking the odds in L1 such as K Hill.... Hope springs eternal - maybe this manager has the Midas touch...maybe not. A few are knocking him already. For trying. No squad in place etc. Same as it ever was.
you forgot about Dibble matey I think he can develop quite well. But I have to agree that we are quite thin on the ground. But I also think we will see at least 5 signings and perhaps 3 loans before the big kick off
Danny Wilson suffered in the same way, too. Personally, I'm quite relaxed with how things are progressing this Summer. I was patient with Wilson & his signings and I'll be the same with Lee Johnson and his.
Denmark 1992 Greece 2004 (bit of a Euro theme there). No reason why that can't last a season. Owt could happen But most probably won't
8 weeks till the first game of the season no need to worry just yet... also the players have not gone back to train as yet... I think we will see a bigger squad by the time pre-season training begins.
Re: 8 weeks till the first game of the season People said the same this time last year, let's just hope history doesn't repeat itself.
Re: 8 weeks till the first game of the season Another performance at Donny like the last one will have people leaping in the Dearne. Let's hope for better
