And there lies the problem Andy .......some dont use it.....

I for one cant understand some folk ....why have a go at players ...the very same players who have got us in to the championship...the very same players who if im not mistaken....could walk away now heads held high because they did what was asked of them last season and got us promoted
Those very same players who have yet to play a championship game, who just might be saving their best for when the real work starts on saturday and are so eager to stay fit for the big day those same players who have used the friendlies to get fitter and avoid injury and if memory serves me right havent got as much to prove to the gaffer as the new boys and those who were on the fringe of a regular first 11 week in week out.
Fickle by nature the culture of some never changes on here.....you build them up and then throw verbal rocks to knock them down....

You forget if it wasnt for sams contribution last season you wouldnt be here having this championship debate.....so ffs....get off the lads back and give them all a chance....and if it goes t1ts up....so what..enjoy and more importantly let the lads enjoy their chance to shine in the championship...the boys not only deserve it theyve earnt the right to be given a fair crack of the whip no matter what any doubters feel.

Ahh. I read it as both lads were not interested in signing a contract at present. That both felt they were better served keeping their options open. I wasn't offering an opinion on the merits or pitfalls of that. Just an opinion on whether it was fair to lambast one and not the other, and whether it was right to pretend things were said that weren't. Because nowhere have I seen or heard either player say they want out, that they are better than BFC and their teammates, or anything else nobbish like that. Just that neither are at this time wanting to extend their stays at BFC beyond next summer.

    Bed now. You Reds etc.

Yeah that may be the case but why? What have they done that Davies (As I used him in my first instance) hasn't? Or What Roberts hasn't? Etc. Nothing, they are all at the same level and haven't been any higher so what makes those two not want to sign a deal is my question? I get your point and there decision, it's not something I can change i'm just suggesting that a lot of Barnsley if they either went to the Q&A or watched it after will definitely not be happy with that and I fully understand why they won't be.

Why on earth are people having a go at lads who are merely seeking to protect their future. Winnall and especially Hourihane are at critical points of their career. If they perform well this season they'll earn decent money at Barnsley. For the sake of argument let's say 5k a week. If a top end championship club comes in for them they could earn at the very least double that.
However, if they sign a two year deal here then BFC can either put a price on their heads that puts those clubs off or simply refuse to sell. Thats two years on 5k a week rather than two on 10. That's half a million quid. If anyone tells me that they would personally risk losing that amount of cash I'd be very sceptical. Not to mention the fact they could get injured in their extended two years here and never get the chance to maximise their earnings.
I'd love both to extend their contracts here but I'm not naive enough to expect anyone to risk their future just because they're playing for BFC.
