Or more Clubs could join the 21 century and have both sitting and standing. Then supporters would indeed have a choice.

 

Happy for them to turn 10% of Oakwell in to standing as long as they charge the same price as sitting.
You would find that anymore than this would be empty after the novelty wore off.

 

The problem with that for me is that creating a standing area requires a huge initial investment and also has significantly higher ongoing costs as many more stewards are required for standing areas than seated areas so should they be paying the same as seated areas which means people in seating areas subsidising those who choose to stand or in reality should those who have a desire to stand actually be paying MORE for their ticket?

 

I’d be happy to see your evidence for that because I think what your saying is untrue. I’ve seen and organised the stewarding for standing areas and it is no different to seating.
