All well and good but the height differential between short and tall people is far less when seated than standing pretty much ensuring everyone has a view of the action .Standing 'seats' suggest you are allocated a fixed position and the barriers are more restricting than the old terraces so, unless it is a steep rake, if someone short or a child is behind a group of taller lads they still have the same problem. Look at the pictures there are quite a few people (including kids) whose view is blocked by tall b*ggers standing in front of them.Still need separate 'compulsory' seating areas IMO.
I have back issues myself and I'm 6ft 3 sitting for 90 minutes with little or no leg room is very difficult at the same time I am acutely aware when I stand up that I block people's views. The roll seats/stands would be a god send for me.
Am I right in thinking that when the Ponty was first a seated stand it was not I'm 6'4" and I feel your pain!
Damn, first part of that was supposed to have been deleted as it was going to be a reply to another post. However...I did seem to remember it was unallocated seating. Surely with that system those who want to stand could all congregate together leaving everyone else to sit. I get there may be more stewarding costs or maybe a health and safety issue plus season ticket holders wouldnt be able to reserve a seat but it would solve some problems.
'SITTTT DARN' absolute mincers, stand up and get behind reds, does my nut in if tha cant stand sit in disabled or near front, loads stand atmosphere always better if you wanna sit down sit on couch with your Mrs watching pop idle you set of boring mincers. Reds
It's not so much height per se but leg length. My husband is taller than me but his trousers are far too short for me, as I found out to his chargrin when I tried to borrow his waterproofs. My legs are the same length as my dad who's 6ft 1in whereas I'm only 5ft 7in but when we're sat down we take up the same amount of leg room. Saying that though, so long as I'm not squashed in those tiny seats in West Stand I'd much rather sit down and watch, it's always theatre seats that bother me.
I used to be 6' 4" but I'm now 5' 11". This is due to being forced to sit down at football matches over many years.
Maybe some of us have some respect for others. Obviously you don’t. If you think it’s ok to stand up in front of a 12 year old girl who wouldnt be able to see if she was stood up. Though your probably kind of person who would turn round and abuse her for wanting to watch the game.
