We parked at Pinner 4 quid to park Tube to Wembley 4 stops Came out as soon as whistle went Home for 9.
We parked on someone's drive on Merrion Avenue, just round the corner from the station at Stanmore. 2 minutes walk. £10 for the day. We got out afterwards with little fuss although I could see the main road past the station was starting to get very slow. I think if we left it another 20 minutes we would have been stuck for ages. As it was, it took us about 10 minutes to get out onto the M1 so not too bad at all. Home for 10pm including a pit stop for food at the Services. I was able to use the guys charger while I was parked which was useful, although I think he skanked me a bit on that one. Charged me £20 to use it but when I plugged in, I found it was only charging at 3.7kw (about half normal rate). So I was parked up for around 10 hours and I was still only 82% charged when I got back. I worked it out that it cost me around 70p per kwh, which is rapid charger rates. He did nicely out of that.
We paid 20 quid to park on a drive at Canons Park. In hindsight we could have just parked on the street where the drive was but the owners were really nice when we got there and asked if we needed to use the toilet. £3.80 to Wembley park and back and we were home by half 9
Not now you've told everybody there won't be. LoL. Used Queensbury for Millwall game, on street ok as well
Northern Powerhouse eh? Better infrastructure (and cheaper) for towns like Beaconsfield, Hatfield etc; satellite towns to Greater London; than there is between two northern cities like Leeds and Manchester.
A massive thankyou to whoever gave the no for Park on the drive at Wembley. Was it Bubbles, a lovely lady who does it for charity. 20 Pound ,ten minutes walk to the ground . Was on the way up the motorway when Wednesday received their trophy. Was pleasantly surprised not to see a single bit of trouble. Maybe I was in the right place.
We did Stanmore for the Ipswich playoff final. Was taking ages to turn right to get out of the car park, traffic wasn't letting anybody out. A group of Tarn lads decided enough was enough and went into the road to stop the traffic then waved everyone out of the car park. Don't know if anythings changed over the years like traffic lights or police guiding cars out etc.
