I never voted Tory in my life and I never will, although I may vote Liberal this time tactically to keep the Tories out where I live. I can’t think of one thing in Britain that is better than it was when they came to power and that includes Brexit. I think we should pay more tax to fund the services we want. The safety first comparison to Southgate is that by dancing to the Tory tune on tax, he hamstrings himself from raising the money he needs to repair the damage that they have done. I’m not talking about taxing low earners either. My view is that we vote someone in to take our tax money and spend it on what we, the people need. I don’t see that with the Tories who, rather than tax the rich, let the services go to hell.
I'm voting Liberal. Even though it's a wasted vote because everyone and their gran has and will vote Yvette Cooper. What a system we have.
I wonder which Liberal adviser came up with idea that doing Boris stunts would improve the Leaders popularity
Something I do agree with. They're palming people off to private healthcare to get waiting lists down but these private practices haven't got essential life saving equipment. You might nod off during your hip replacement and catch the stairlift to heaven.
I totally agree. Having said that, if someone is in the process of saving your life I guess you don’t think to ask who they work for.
Fair enough they’ve changed the boundaries and the constituency name - but Cooper had only a 2%, 1200 majority in 2019 from the tories. It’s unlikely - but a vote for Lib Dem might promote a Tory. Your hatred of the Labour Party is pretty unfounded - your accusations of Starmer being right wing are echoed in media propaganda and blokes chirping down the pub but founded in no facts or evidence whatsoever - and to be honest it’s a little bizarre given your personal circumstances, which you have widely shared.
What's more bizarre is that when picked up on them he randomly says "I don't have a villa abroad" or "tax is important" when it isn't anything to do with what he's replying to
Ok yeah I suppose that's fair, I haven't voted since the 90s to be honest. They were a novelty then, as they were my first two elections when I could vote. But I haven't done since and I never will again, not for anybody. And I rarely ever get involved in political stuff like this anyway.
You get involved in political stuff all the time if you don't vote. Its a political choice not to vote. I'll be voting, tiny though my voice is and you not voting is also having a say.
Maybe, but what do you want me to do about it Kami ?. Because I don't care about them, like I said earlier, and I will not vote for anybody.
You do what you want. Vote or dont vote, your choice. If everybody was like you though that would mean that nobody at all voted!! Now that would be interesting!!
OK. Life improving then. I’m as much committed to the values of the NHS as anyone, but know from personal experience that if you are in enough pain you really don’t care about the niceties.
